Strengths:    This fork is very plush, yet strong. It is extremely smooth and I have never bottomed it out. Ive had it for a year and I havent had too many problems with it. I use it for light jumps/street and trails.

Weaknesses:    When I got the fork the bolts that hold the three piece legs were missing. The bolts cost $40 canadian at the local shop and I paid the same ammount for the fork. So I tapped my own threads and put in some stainless steel bolts. Big mistake. This weakend the legs and they flex like a leaf spring. Even with the proper bolts they were apperently still weak.

    Bottom Line:
This fork is good and I recomend it. I need more info, but I would like to change the legs to some one piece legs if I can although I don't know for sure if this is possible.

Strengths:    Very strong, super plush and not too heavy.

    Weaknesses:    None found

    Bottom Line:
Sweet fork. Does what you want it to, reacts with a memory type feeling and overall is worth what you pay for it. I Bought mine used through www.pinkbike.com, and FR/DH/M-Bike/BMX buy-sell site, and it has been my favorite ride so far.

You can trust it when quickly turning to avoid falling off the edge of a ravine after hitting a 5 foot drop.

Strengths:    moves down when weight is applied

Weaknesses:    flexes like a twig which never snaps
mine made a horrid noise for a very long time
snaps when you take the front wheel off!

    Bottom Line:
I bourght these about a year ago, and they worked properly for a week. About a month after I first got them, they made the worst noise ever. At first, I thourght it was my headset, but no. So I spent 70 quid on a woodman saturn to find out if it would stop. Then I got new bars and wheel. Still sounds like $#!+. Finally, I got the cool Specailized vegas trx-24, for a new frame. I was praying for the noise to go away. You have guessed it, still sounded like your mum (mom for you americans).
Then, about a month ago (today is the 5th of may 04), I decided to swap to the rigid's that came with my frame. I took the wedges out of my frame, then tried to bash the headset off the steerer tube. But my steerer tube somehow busted, so it was a challange to get the headset off, and in order to get the correct angle to give it a few hits, I had to take the front wheel off. As I did, the whole thing twisted. I looked again, and the right dropout for the wheel had snapped. Bugger. So basically, this fork was death in another form. The only good point is that it did last to my standards for a year, and it was very smooth when ridden, as well as being fairly cheap. So all in all, more like a cross country fork than a freeride fork. Not to be ridden hard!

rate!.if u a begginer freerider or downhiller this fork definitly does the intended job.IT WILL SOAK UP PRETTY BIG HITS ALL DAY LONG.if ur into drops id say 8-15 feet depending on the weight and the skill of the rider.but u can find yourself running through the travel to easy the fork seems a little to soft when doing drops of 6ft plus.up to yet i havent really had that much of a problem with really. and one of the lowest z.1 priced at about 180 quid or $280 there exellent for a starter and intermediate riders.the rebound is a little fast to start but is adjustable[quite tricky].MY ONLY THING TO SAY ABOUT THESE FORKS IS IF UR NOT A CRAZY MOUNTAIN BIKER BUT U WANT SOME FUN BUY THERES BABYS OR IVE HERS THE DJ,3 FORKS ARE FOR ABOUT THE SAME PRICE FROM THE MASTERS MARZOCCHI.

    Strengths:    -Good Damping
    -stiff
-tracks good. gives confidence in cornering

Weaknesses:    -came with low oil level
-leaked oil (see bottom line below)

    Bottom Line:
My first suspension fork. I bought it for intended XC, light freeriding and DH. I've used it for 1 year now and I should say that it really does its job well.

Just keep your weight behind da saddle and trust this fork to get you down and up the ruts.

No problems with drops to flat at 4-feet and below. No guts yet to try higher drops.
I experienced oil leak when using v-breaks, it went away when i switch to disk brakes.

Strengths:    -dual coil (not to be underestimated)
    -stiff
    -strong
    -plush without wallowing
-steers and tracks like a shark

Weaknesses:    -simplicity isn't always good (internal adjustments)
    -way undersprung when stock
    -travel is non adjustable
    -some issues with cryofit

    Bottom Line:
I bought the fork used. It came with an extra heavy spring in one leg and a heavy spring in the other. It was set up with 15 wt oil. Perfect for me, a 210 pound rider who does a lot of hucking and long technical trail rides. I would have to agree with many of the guys who posted with the view that with the stock set up, this fork will blow. Also there have been some issues with Marzocchi's cryofit crown. My fork was warrantied before I bought it. The crown, stanchions and seals were replaced with the Marathon set up. Stiffer, stronger and lighter. Nice. But it's something to watch out for. One other issue is that all of the adjustments are internal. This isn't really a big deal, but if you like to fiddle a lot with dials, you'll be out of luck.

But to write this fork off would be a mistake. Properly set up, the Z1 will perform at least as well as other long travel single crown forks costing much more. Don't believe it when someone tells you this is a "budget" fork. It's not. The Wedge is pretty much the same as a Z1 FR, just without the power windows. If performance is what matters to you, then this fork should be on your bike.

Every time I ride this fork, I'm amazed. Laterally and torsionally stiff. Plush and responsive without wallowing around. Compared to the Psylo SL, which I was using before, this is definitely a leap forward. I still really like the Psylo, but it just isn't in the same league. The steering with the Wedge is very precise, and the fork tracks through corners without making you wonder how far it's going to dive. This is something about Bombers that I've always liked: predictability. One other thing worth mentioning here is that I've used a couple of Zokies in the past and I've never had an issue with them. If you set the fork up for your weight, then you shouldn't experience a failure.

I've done a few jumps and some long technical trail rides with this fork and I'm looking forward to many more. Do the homework with the set up. It's not hard to do and it's well worth it. I'll post again in few weeks but so far, I'm giving this fork a big thumbs up.

    Bottom Line:
-This fork is very strong(no flex) despite its 130mm of travel.
Great damping, very very smooth along the 130mm.
-It absorbs everytinh, from high impacts, drops, to smallest stone, grain, fissure on ground. It seems we´r in clouds, flying.
-It really works from the 1st milimeter of travel.

    Strengths:    - No Flex
    - Price ($170, a take-off fork deal)
    - Handles big hits with eazzzzze

Weaknesses:    - Not sensitive to small bumps
    - Oil level was low right out of the box. Better QC needed.

    Bottom Line:
A good fork for messing around. The fork has no noticeable flex. I installed it on my Giant AC, which I use for XC and some peewee amatuer stair dropping. Takes 3 footers with ease and plush on drops. However the fork is not sensitive to small bumps on the trail for my regular riding. I have no problems climbing up hills, just stay seated and work on smooth peddling.
The internal rebound adjustment is not a problem at all IMO. I never touch the adjustments on any fork once I tweaked it to my liking, so I don't think the internal adjustments are a big deal. I also consider internal adjustments a plus because you don't have to worry about external knobs and dial being damaged like on my old RS and Black forks.
As a light rider (140 lbs), I had to switch out the stock springs for the soft springs. So light riders should factor another $30 into the price.
    I have no complaints.

    Bottom Line:
man,i have tryed most everything singlecrown, and even for a lower end zoke,it blows away forks twice as expensive.take your time setting it up,and do not be afraid to add a little mo oil if you are bottoming when you no should not be.seems to have more travel than 2003 zoke z1.maybe not but check for yourself.MARZOCCHI FOREVER!

    Strengths:    Absorbs almost everything.

Weaknesses:    May be a bit too soft, I suggest upgrading the standard 7.5 wt oil with the 10 wt.

    Bottom Line:
This is a really good fork for the money. Requires little maintence and performs quite well. I found that the stock 7.5 wt oil in this fork was too soft and bottomed on moderate sized drops so I upgraded to the 10 wt. I haven't had any problems with the Z1 wedge since.
I would recommend upgrading the oil if you freeride much though. No matter if you freeride, or just enjoy aggresive cross country, or even a bit of downhill this fork will stand up to whatever you through at it. An overall amazing shock.
