Favorite Trail:local trail
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:came with bike
Strengths:The fork is terribly solid. Its huge stantion scream, "try and break me!!!" You most probably won't though The adjustable compression and rebound setting are easy to use and precise. Very plush! Looks Great and makes people look twice at your bike.
Weaknesses:Weight is said to be a drag but if you want to ride hard you have to get something beffy and solid. So your fork has to get heavy if you want it to be solid. If its heavy it usually means there's lots of metal...lots of metal means its solid. But don't let the weight fool you its still a great fork
Similar Products Used:Boxxer comp titanium 2003(demo'ed)
Bike Setup:monster T 2002, fox vanilla 2006, norco atomik 2004, double track wheels and all the basic DH parts
Bottom Line:Its great. Get one, its so worth it. Really! If your looking for a plush feel on tough riding, big gaps, drops and other downhill or freeride stuff get it!!!!!!!!. If your a cross country rider that wants lots of travel get a single crown fork. less weight to carry. Oh, but mine has been rebuilt by marzocchi this year so you might want to get yours checked/done first for maximum ride, quality, fun....

Strengths:Just an amazing fork overall. Great rebound and suspension. Turns any bike into feeling like a beefy dirtbike, just awsome.
Weaknesses:None that I have found
Similar Products Used:03 Jr. T, 04 Super T, but outta those i still prefer my 02 monster t.
Bike Setup:Iron Horse Yakuza Aniki All Stock except for 02 Monster T and alex 20mm front wheel.
Bottom Line:Buy this fork. Its amazing and you can get them for a reall good deal. If you dont wana buy a new one cause moneys tight then try pinkbike.com and you could find a used one for like $300 - $400. Its definetly worth it. I would suggest this fork only to downhiller and hard core freeriders. Heavy fork but wow is it beefy!!!:)

Favorite Trail:A-Line
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Purchased At:Came with my bike(traded for my 4cross bike)
Strengths:stiffer than a brick, VERY plush, if you have it set up right. very simple to work on.
Weaknesses:heavy(10 lbs), no compression adjust(i have it set as stiff as it goes, and still it bottoms on a 4 foot drop), seals are more expensive than any other marzocchi fork, and they aren't so stiff when you have the crowns at more than the minimum height. when they start to leak, it's like old faithful erupting.
Similar Products Used:super t, junior t, drop-off triple, pike team, psylo sl, sherman firefly
Bike Setup:02 norco shore, monsters(but not for long), 26/24 mag30's, hayes mags, raceface north shores, xt/lx shifters/derailleurs, and fizik plateau.
Bottom Line:if you don't care about weight, and you want a good fork for cheap, go for one of these babies. you won't be disappointed. definitely not a race fork, but i do anyways.

Submitted by Garson a Downhiller from west mass
Date Reviewed: November 1, 2003
Duration Product Used:6 months
Strengths:strong, stiff, plush, holds a line, 180 degree steering is a HUGE plus if you like to ride northshore type stuff or any other super technical trails, absoloutely zero maintainence, replacement arches available for those who run big tires
Weaknesses:A bit heavy for some tastes, a bit much if you're going to mount it to a disposable race frame, stock springs are pretty soft for the majority of riders who are going to use the fork
Similar Products Used:Boxxer, dorado, shiver, new version monster t (just too much fork for me) old white bros, avalanche DHS8 and MTN8 (the only of the forks I mentioned that ride as well as, if not marginally better than the 02 monster)
Bike Setup:Marin Team DH soon to be replaced, northshores, evil guide, Mag 30s, michelin comp 24.1 2.5 tires, etc.
Bottom Line:It's a damn good fork if you don't want to replace your fork annualy. I know guys who still run their 99 monsters and have never even replaced the seals, and their forks are still going strong. The combination of pretty heavy weight, stiffness and plushness make the fork hold lines amazingly well. So much, in fact, that after riding this fork, I couldn't even ride my friend's boxxer because the flex was too distracting. I still run the stock springs, but I'm only 160lbs, and I'm smoother than most, which I learned from a season of racing sport DH on a hardtail. So basically, the fork rides amazingly well, doesn't ride as heavy as its weight would imply, is super stiff, requires no maintainence, and isn't rediculously expensive. What's no to love? I can't see replacing it any time soon.

Hardcore! Unless your a member of the clumps this fork is your God! Once dialed in to your style the sky is your playground! I use them to break open boulders for cross training!
Weaknesses:Factory springs too soft.Setup for whimps that hate slamming through rocks! I'm 180lb and installed heavy springs for better ride! Marz should label them "FOR REAL MEN ONLY"! and give HD springs away!

Strengths:they didnt bend when i inserted them up a sheeps arse, however they did turn a funny colour and now they dont smell very nice. the oil inside them tastes really nice with eggs and toast and apparently if you jizz in them, they can make you fly, i havent tried that yet.
Weaknesses:none really, except no one seems to stock a knife to go with this fork. and mine still smell funny from the sheep! oh, and once mine abused me in my sleep but thats not really a weakness!!
Similar Products Used:two way dildo, parafin pisser, spoon's, crack cocain and lsd

4)when i took it off a 16 foot drop it laughed at mee and tought that it was a curb
5)no sevicing needed only checked up every year
Weaknesses:lets air in some times but can be easly let out by a valve at the top of the fork some people say weight i dont care i hardly feel the weight and just think what that weight is doing for your pecks and arms the girls will want to toss your monsters off and you as well

Weaknesses:no stock 3" brace
Similar Products Used:Stratos MX-6
Bike Setup:Bullit with 8" Avalanche conversion, Doublewides and Gazzaloddis, Hayes, 454 chromoly cranks, everything else heavy.
Bottom Line:I thought the MX-6 was an ok fork until I bought this fork - the Monster makes the MX-6 feel like a fragile, noodly, super easy to bottom POS by comparison. It took me less than one ride to get used to the wieght. However I am still getting used to the concept of riding a fork that IMMEDIATLY goes where you point it regardless of boulders huge ruts and roots and is supple on little hits while still able to suck up big flat landings (I have yet to bottom it). If only Marzocchi would run a 3" brace stock! Oh well, you can't have everything.

Strengths:Beefy stanchions. Tough crowns.
Weaknesses:Had a bit of a problem with the stack height. Even with the drop crown, I had no room for adjustment in the stanchions when allowing for proper suspension travel.

Bottom Line:Riding on the Super-T, I would bottom out on drops starting about 5 feet to flat. I ordered the fork directly from Marzocchi and had them install extra heavy springs, but this didn't help. The worst part is that when I called asking for help to solve this problem, I was informed that it is only a "big trail fork." Right then, I ordered the Monster-T. I insalled extra heavy springs in this new fork, and I have not had a single problem with it. Marzocchi customer service is awesome. Ride on.

Strengths:Beefy stanchions, crown, brake brace. Just pretty much the entire fork is plain strong.
Weaknesses:Can ovalize your headtube, even if you have a beefy frame. They are very heavy for certain situations. I use them for racing downhill, urban assault, shuttle runs, and rarely freeriding. I'd say if you don't ride like this they might not be your first choice.

I have tried my best to punish these forks but I haven't developed any slop at all. Another thing to note that's cool, is that I haven't even touched the inside's yet! Strengths:Everything !!! This are the biggest and uglyest forks I've ever eaten with. Verry stiff an hard...undestructable. I threv them off a 13-story building ( the sticker fell off and I wanted the customer service to get me new ones )but they survived :( so after destroying the chainsaw on them i eventually had to blow them up with TNT (they were so messed up even McGuyver couldn't have fixed them). And another thing they don't look gay like other marzocchi forks with the M-crown. They fit perfect on my new bike only the head-angle is little strange !!!!
Weaknesses:No weaknesses at all :( Some riders in my town laugh at me but I can't figure out why. The're probably just jelous.

Strengths:Product Strenghts? Good name for this bit. This product has strength, then a whole lot more!

Travel is brilliant; stiff as hell; killer looks on Bullit frames; all black, which is a BIG improvement on the black/orange of 2001; seperate brace, unlike the crappy M-arch on the traditional Marzocchi forks and the one piece legs of Boxxers etc; tire clearance is all I'll ever need; stiff and beefy 20mm axle; decals are thich wrap-around sheets, much better than crappy stickers on other forks.
Weaknesses:Well, it seems some people have put weigh as a "weakness" of this product, but I dont think it's a weakness. If these forks have to be this heavy to be this good, then so be it. I'm not complaining.

The extra weight took me a few minutes to get used to, but that was it.

Not really a weakness, but these ride so awesome that they might cause you to lose sleep, not concentrate in work etc coz you just want to be out riding them! Or is that just me?
Similar Products Used:Er... start from the beginning. Quadra21, Mag21, Mach 5 SX, Judy XC, '98 Z1 BAM (still my favourite single crowns), '99 Jr T.
Bike Setup:SC Bullit, Monster T, Hope hubs/brakes, Raceface/Shimano transmission, Mavic 321s, Titec/Azonics/King/WTB components.
Bottom Line:I went from some 99 OEM Jr Ts to these, and HOLY SH*T! These things make the Jr Ts look and feel like noodles!

When I was looking for an upgrade fork, I looked at these and Shivers (I'm a BIG Marzocchi fan). As a distant outsider, I considered Boxxers aswell. Boxxers lost out straight away due to crap tire clearance and bad experiences in the past with Rock Shox stuff. I liked the Shivers after seeing them in Kranked 4, so it was a close call between the Monsters and Shivers. I ended up getting the Monsters as they're cheaper, stiffer (although I can't back that up as I've never riden with Shivers), and after seeing the Superhero's section of Kranked 3, thought they looked amazing on SC Bullits.

Initially mine were pretty sticky, as all my past Marzocchi forks have been, but once you've riden on them for a short while (few hours for mine), the action and plushness is like nothing else. They move over stuff I can't even see, and they corner like they're on rails. I've never felt so confident riding off things and towards things as I do now. Looking down and seeing such big forks is great for confidence. The stiffness is amazing, both for cornering and dropping. I used to get disc rub with my Jr Ts if I railed a corner, but I get none of that with these.

I might try adding another 5mm of oil to each leg, as I'm dropping higher and higher now, and I want them to be just a bit more progressive on the landings. I didnt write this in the weakness section, as I dont see it as a weakness. It's just the way they're set up as stock, and I'm just fine tuning them for my style. That aint a weakness.

I can't say enough good things about these forks. I dont know how I used to ride without them, and I dont know how I'm ever going to get a better pair of forks.

I'm certainly going to give them 5 for overall, but only 4 for value. Chain Reaction used to sell the 2001s at £500, but the 2002s are £600. Why the sudden increase in cost? If they'd always been £600, my value rating would be 5, as I still think they're worth £600, Im just miffed with that £100 increase.

Favorite Trail:yes
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Purchased At:MAGIC CYCLES
Strengths:Strong, stiff, durable, confidence inspiring, super adjustable, heavy
Weaknesses:well...maybe the drop crown hitting my top tube, but I've got it padded up okay. I guess another weakness would be that it might just break your frame. Voids the warranty on most freeride and DH bikes. MAY RESULT IN PERMA-GRIN.
Similar Products Used:'01 Jr. T, '02 Jr. T, other single crown Marzocchi's
Bike Setup:RM7dh with triple chainrings for XC racing
Bottom Line:I rebuilt a Monster T for a friend who bought it used, and upon finishing decided to go ride his bike. I chose the rootiest, gnarliest trail around and rode it in the rain. He didn't care that I rode the bike, but he was upset when I didn't give it back right off.
The Monster T is the stiffest fork you can buy. Not only does it eliminate gnarly rocks and roots, and softens the blow of big drops, but it also eliminates the need to steer. That's right, the steering precision is so tight that all you have to do is lean to turn. The reason this fork weighs more than the others that try to compete is the oil volume- this fork takes alot of oil! After a few hours of riding the fork, you don't even notice the weight until it's time to load it in the truck after the ride. It is totally worth it to me, no other fork I've ridden comes close to the benefits of a Monster. The travel is super smooth and seems endless. You can ride the most retarded lines and still come through unscathed. It may not be the best DH race fork due to weight, but if you want a real fork that you don't have to constantly attend to- adjusting, lubing, cleaning, worrying, and you ride more than race, this is the one. The Monster T on my RM7 makes the trail pass in slow motion. I took it on a big epic ride the other day, and now I have perma-grin. More than anything else, THIS FORK IS A LOT OF FUN!!! I feel like Superman!

Strengths:were beffy lots of travil and looks sooo good. the fork work so well when you put the rebound up and the come back rally well and very smoothly.when you get the forks you need to put a bit more oil in to stop it running through its travil so easily. about 10mm.you feel lots more confident like you can do much bigger drops and dh courses.dont listen to people when they say there hevy they ar quit light when the rebound is up over jumps you fly even when you are going slow you can clear the jump whith ease.
Weaknesses:need to rase oil levels about 10mm so it dose not run throughh its travil so easily.
