Strengths: Very responsive and plush, It keeps me planted well, and can hold its own on drops, stair gaps, and is bulletproof.
Weaknesses: Graphics look tacky. A simple "Bomber" decal ala 2003-2004 Marzos would suffice.
Bottom Line:
I first found this on a Giant Xtc. When I found the money I switched the frame to a Chucker 2.0. DH and FR is a cinch in this. The fork gets very busy in my DH trail that is nothing but rocks, and it never gave up. And at drops, it only bottoms out when you land nose first. But it's now getting a tad soft, maybe I needed new oil for it... but all in all, a great fork.

Strengths: Will not bottom out, Incredibly well-damped, plush, and responds to the slightest movements on the ground below it whether it be a pebble, or boulder!
Weaknesses: After all these ears, it has about 3-5mm of sag, even without a rider. The dual preload adjusters set all the way down don't do much else either. I'm sure a fresh set of springs will fix it though!
Bottom Line:
Well, It's 2007 now and I love this fork so much, that it's on my brand new Intense 5.5 EVP. I'm not even kidding! The only work thats been done on this fork in over 5 years, is 1-1/2 oil changes and a seal kit which by the way, It didn't even need. For a fork being labeled a "dirt jumper" at just above 5lbs is quite amazing. It is strong though. I've bent pro-flex frames in half with this, I've jumped off walls to flats, ridden up a 5-set of stairs going 20mph, jumped down 3 consecutive sets of 4-set stairs etc...you get the picture. After all these years, the springs feel a bit looser and/or weaker, but it only gets better!

Weaknesses: buying oil and parts. Very expensive to have oil, o rings etc. has a wierd ting noise when you come out of a manual.
Bottom Line:
it is an awsome fork. i have used it for urban and downhill, and it loved it. it is worth the money if you can find a used one.

Strengths: price, strength, durability, takes big hits well, good seals and bushings
Weaknesses: none really, could have more external damping options but at this price that is asking a lot. Perhaps small bump compliance could be better, but that may improve as the bushings wear in.
Bottom Line:
this fork is great, and a great value for the money. It offers tonnes for what would have cost you lots just a few years ago. My riding has definately moved up a notch. Although I have only owned the fork for three months, I would still recommend it highly, especially if you ride in BC.

Strengths: sweet
Weaknesses: corrosion
Bottom Line:
I'm a bit too easy on it but have put LOTS of km on it. Just thought I had to review just to say that after lots of use it still feels almost as new. good stuff, really happy. there is no finish on the metal above the stanchion tubes and has started small pits of corrosion from me being too lazy to wash my bike.

Strengths: very very plush, does take every small bump or dip with such ease!! good looking, right?
Weaknesses: none, except maybe that the stock springs were just way too soft so I kept bottoming out the babe. I had new green 100mm ones installed to solve the problem. No problem ever since.
Bottom Line:
The fork is definitely the best I've ever ridden and I can recommend it to all who don't jump cliffs and crap like that. My DJ2 has proved a fork that can be badly treated and still works for you, go buy it!!

Strengths: stiff and looks nice. price
Weaknesses: at the beginning the fork doesn´t work really well. when u ride it for a while it´s getting better. but it still gives a kind of hit to u cuz the springs are so strong. it cracked in the time of about 2 days, but that´s ok cuz i use discbrakes.
Bottom Line:
this is a really good fork if u are heavy enough for the standart springs so on a downhill u get problems cuz it doesnßt absorb all the hits. at urban and dirtjump riding this fork is great.

Strengths: I've been reading some of the other reviews, and I have reached certain conclusions. Given that a) Your weight falls within healthy ranges as outlined by various medical organisations, b)You do not assume that the name "Dirt Jumper" entitles you to exceed the structural limitations of a medium-travel singlecrown fork, i.e. landing backwards halfway down 14-sets, taking 55-foot cliff drops, etc, and c) You realize that for $339 Canadian a fork should not have to nake up for your inherent lack of skill and/or natural shock absorbtion capacity (you guys riding duallies on blue trails, you do realize there's a reason we ride bikes and not motorcycles, right?), given that you recognize the three points above, these shocks should absolutely kick ass for you. And if I could italicize 'kick ass', I would. I've been riding them on the four-inch setting up seymour and fromme on a hardtail and have had no problems at all so far. Ever so plush, lightweight (as far as bombers go), good climbing, stiff, strong, and did I mention they look great? I mean, I have a bit of an issue with heavy-metal culture but if they're called dirt jumpers they might as well have heavy-metal lettering. Although, as my metallica-loving, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, etc. worshipping, mullet-clad, bass-playing friend mused, 'it could be heavier'. This is the guy who, upon seeing my new hayes discs went "aw, cool!" and grabbed the rotor with his greasy little fingers. Oh well. He's a good fellow. So what was I saying? Oh yeah, these shocks are bomber-liscious. Gettim.
Weaknesses: None so far. I had them set too squishy though at first and they nearly bottomed, but they're great so far. I've taken some really hard falls, too, and they've held up great. So no weaknesses.
Bottom Line:
These are far superior to any other single-crowns I have ridden and I can safely say that at least as far as black-rated shore trails go they should hold you. If you're not morbidly obese or a terrible rider or Joe Bender that is. I mean, if you're rich and/or an extreme rider you should go dual crown, but what am I saying? Even rich kids should learn to ride on less-than top-of the line bikes, it would at least keep them from clogging the easy trails on five thousand dollar downhill rigs without knowing how to ride them.
Similar Products Used: Atom 80s, Judys, Manitou SXs, cross-country forks basically. The Atom 80s are actually really nice if you like that type of riding.
Bike Setup: A black hardtail with black parts and now black shocks too. (i mean, who cares?)

Strengths: A really strong fork. Took all the abuse I gave it. No problems.
Weaknesses: Could be more adjustable.
Bottom Line:
This is a great fork. Anyone who gives out big hits, like urban riding and freeriding, should get this fork!!!
Strengths: -gives good kick off lips -alot stiffer travel wise than my old marzocchi, at stock setting
Weaknesses: -creaks within 3 days of riding.
Bottom Line:
Good idea, bad design. I love how it gives good kick off the lips of jumps, but within 3 days, maybe less, it has started creaking. Nothing but problems with Marz single crowns. After recieving this on crash replacement (cheaper price) for my snapped Z5 (which broke my face) I thought I'd have a worthwhile fork... I was wrong. Any creak implies that the press fitted parts of the fork are not seated correctly. As they work themselves loose, they stress the parts even more, meaning catostrophic failure. Marzocchi and their distributors know the problem, but they are feeding us a load of crap calling it rider abuse. Marzocchi single crowns suck. Face it. And with their 2003 press fitted dual crowns, they are going downhill all the way. I'm not even going to bother waiting for Norco to warranty my fork for me, it took them almost a month just to give me word on where my old fork was. Unless I am guaranteed a brand new fork and the problem is fixed, I don't see a point in wasting any more money on Marzocchi.
