Date Reviewed: July 13, 2008
Favorite Trail:moray monster trails
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $115.00
Purchased At:ebay
Strengths:85mm-125mm adjustabillity to suit conditions and riding style, fully adjustable for compression, rebound and preload and they do actually work. Much lighter and better performing than the 100mm suntour xcm it replaced.
Weaknesses:the preload adjustment doesn't seem to do very much, though a couple of clicks minimum is needed to reduce top out clunk for some reason.
Similar Products Used:marzocchi z4 air, suntour xcm
Bike Setup:standard commencal combi s with two wheel sets for wet and dry
Bottom Line:a beautifully made set of forks which offer smooth, plush feel which track well. adjusters which do adjust enabling a good setup.

Submitted by Dustin a Racer from Roanoke, VA/USA
Date Reviewed: January 21, 2004
Favorite Trail:Carvin's Cove
Duration Product Used:Less than 1 month
Price Paid: $180.00
Purchased At:E-bay
Strengths:Awesome stiffness, plush ride, rebound, compression, preload, and flight control adjustments. Overall quality.
Oil seals.
Weaknesses:None found yet.
Similar Products Used:Few other Fox shocks, and a Quake S 75mm. This is my first fork with long travel.
Bike Setup:Specialized 21" Rockhopper Comp Hardtail, totally custom.
Bottom Line:Clearly one of the best forks on the market but its too bad Magura/Rond hasn't been recognized by the US market, yet. This fork just plain rocks. Its stiff as balls and works AWESOME with my 8" Avid Mechanical disc brake. I can't even feel bumps, especially when it's adjusted to 125mm travel. Oh, and the fork stays just as stiff at 125mm as it does at 85mm of travel. Can't ask for more than that. The weight wasn't tooo bad. About 3.8 lbs. Not bad for a fork of this size and its coil sprung. I will post another update once I have used it for 6 months or so. Since I got it off of E-bay for $180 I am giving it 5 chilis for Value. Otherwise if i paid retail($575) i would give it 4 chilis. This is the 2nd magura fork I have owned, and I am sold on magura suspension products.
