Date Reviewed: August 7, 2003
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $190.00
Purchased At:www.bikemailorder.de
Strengths:It works perfectly.
Weaknesses:a bit too heavy
Similar Products Used:Bomber MXC
Bike Setup:Sachs Quarz/SRAM 9.0, Tektro IO mechanicla disc brakes, XT hubs with Mavic X317 rims
Bottom Line:2000 km of XC without any problem. Just works as it schould. At the beginnig I was thinking to change that Rond for some lighter fork, but there is no reason. Great work with disc brakes. For that price no 1 (for me).

Submitted by Alex Tromp a Cross Country Rider from Apeldoorn, The Netherlands
Date Reviewed: June 6, 2002
Favorite Trail:anything in between Apeldoorn and Arnhem
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $352.00
Purchased At:Hoekman Tweewielers Apeldoorn
Strengths:Strong fork, stiffness, plush suspension travel
Weaknesses:Paintjob if you are unlucky
Similar Products Used:2StrokeS 2001
Bike Setup:Giant NRS XtC Team frame, Raceface stem and cranks, SRAM drivetrain, Magura Louise Discs
Bottom Line:If you are our for a simple, well working and affordable fork, this is it. A Fox Forx is a bit the same, but more expensive and so on. The Rond comes at some weight, but you don't build anything this stiff with springs as light as a SID.
I have been using the 2001 version from july 2001. Than in february 2002 the paint started falling of the fork lowers. Sent it off to Rond (who still makes the forks altough it now has Magura logo on it) who promised to replace the lowers. Living in the Netherlands is a plus with Rond service cases, but OK, Magura services overall isn't bad.
Anyway, I got to choose the color I liked for my new lowers. Instead of just fixing em on like they told me they placed the old internals into a 2002 fork. This had a far lighter crown, so the weight is very OK now.
The fork is very plush and stiff, I basically like it very much.
