from Davis Date Reviewed: July 2, 2002 Strengths: This forks soaks up bumps, it's light and didn't cost me too much. It has a very nice feel on fast heavy washboard type of stuff. Big stanchions don't flex too much Weaknesses: The big stanchions are great froma flex standpoint, but I have to run a little washer on the axle to prevent my disc rotor from rubbing on the fork. the adjustment is a pain in the ass because internal spacers are required. from MD Date Reviewed: August 30, 2001 Strengths: It's better than a Jett C Weaknesses: Everything. I've had nothing but problems with this fork. On the first ride, it felt wrong- not the sticky/break in period problem but something else that no shop could put their finger on. I sent it away and get new bushings. It felt fine for about a week and then started to feel really crappy. I think the seals are messed up because there are tiny vertical needlepoint scratches along the bottom parts of both stanchions. This fork really sucks. To top it off, I met a guy who had an AT-3 that failed on him. While doing a drop, both stanchions snapped. He knocked out 4 teeth, got a nasty concussion, and broke his nose. I'm planning to get rid of this fork.... That can make 30% difference to the sensitivity and overall plushness. Just got the 2002 modified seals in, seems much nicer. If you arnt storing upside down, try it, you will be surprised.
