from redmond,WA USADate Reviewed: March 21, 2010
Strengths: fairly adjustable, durableWeaknesses: not appropriate for big drops or any type of downhill or free ridingBottom Line: this suspension fork is appropriate for beginner to intermediate cross country riding. you have to remember that. different shocks are designed for different types of
riding and/or terrain. also if you're not a very skilled rider (ie: you're relying on the suspension too much) you
won't be that happy with it. try riding a rigid fork and then see what you think!

None just looks nice this Shock really sucks, I cant beleive it retailed orginally for $600 dollars. Its a POS, its so soft even when set to the highest tension its like riding on a flat tire in front of you and ait over all makes you prone to crashing alot. It renders your control of your bike considrably!!!Weaknesses:
Same as aboveBottom Line: THis Shock Sucks so much ass

This fork ruined my season. It is simply a slophouse; like riding with a flat front tire. It bottoms out with no effort and I've blown two cartridges in the few months that I have owned it.Bottom Line: The bottom line is that this fork makes me cry at night. As another reviewer stated, this shock isn't worth the box it came in. I paid $100.00 for this fork thinking even if it sucks it has got to be worth a bill. I was horribly mistaken. Don't make the same mistake I made. Now my bike has a rigid fork on it until I can find something better than an xl, like a judy jett

POS!!!!!!!
Not worth the box it came in. Shitty travel, bottoms out. Looks like crap/GAY!Bottom Line: Really bad fork, even for the $187 it cost. Travel is NOT progressive at all, bottoms out all the time. I can't believe Rock Shox is still in business, their only good product is the BOXXER. You know why I must give it 1 flaming pile of shit, I'd give it zero but thats no an option, I think it should be

Strengths:
Light weight.cool looks reliable performanceWeaknesses:
a little bit flexy for DHBottom Line: After using a DHO in 3 DH race the XL is a lighter version and fun to play around with in technical trails. It doesn't have the bomb proof stiffness of the DHO but a great tango with the RS Super De luxe of the LTS rear. I blew all my 96 97 RS cartridge including the DHO but this XL brougth back my confidence in RS.The New C3 cart is reliable. My 180lbs was a problem at start and RS recommended to change the oil to a heavier weight oil and now its perfect.
