Strengths: Had a Rock Shox sticker that stayed on for the life of the fork.
Weaknesses: Where to begin?
Bottom Line:
I had this on a lack luster set up that was really geared toward ATB or city riding. This fork was good for it's intended purpose, riding to work. Once I got adventurous and got on the trails I realized I had the wrong set up. This fork should not be ridden down trails such as singletrack or anything with lots of bumbs and rocks. Keep this fork on the flat land so you don;t kill yourself. Get a beefier fork that can withstand some abuse (I call it lovin) if you want to get nuts!

Strengths: Plush, maintenance-free, easy set-up.
Weaknesses: Ungodly heavy.
Bottom Line:
After 3 years and 4000 miles, this fork is finally being put out to pasture, so I figured I better write up it's eulogy. To begin with, the fork feels as plush as the day I bought it- no excess friction in the travel. I use it mainly for xc use, and can count the number of times I've bottomed it out on one hand. I've kept the boots on, and never had to open it up for maintenance, although I probably will soon. There is no lateral play between uppers and lowers at all. If you're looking for a fork with multiple adjustments, look elsewhere. It's only fault, and the reason it's being benched, is it's weight. We've come a long way since 99, and 4+ pounds for an 80mm (if that) fork is too much.
Weaknesses: after a while the bushings start to give and then wear out and then you have to replace them
Bottom Line:
Theese shocks are really cool they have long travel that's really good. The only thing I didn't like was that they were a ugly color they were dark purple I didn't like that they almost look black but there not. I still think they are great though. I'm going to give these shocks 4 flamin chili cause of the color
Bike Setup: Custom frame with shimano LX front and back. hayes in front 6' Maxxis 2.8 t.h.e fender in front.

Strengths: physical strength (the double crown)
Weaknesses: lots of flex cartidge is a big no no springs get worn out easily rebound doesnt werk neither does the compression
Bottom Line:
ok this fork was awesome for the first lil bit...but then they started to F*@! up. i had them for about 2 months then they got unbelievably soft and i could bottom them out just by pushing down on them when riding. then following that they topped out really badly too. it didnt matter whether i adjusted the rebound or compression because they didnt even work. then after 6 months of riding these joyous pieces of crap i blew the cartridge. thats when i desided it was time for a new fork.

Strengths: Manteinance
Weaknesses: Weight, tuning...
Bottom Line:
Good fork, heavy, but easy to mantain... It came with my bike and it was my first suspension fork. Never bottomed down, quite plush and no bobbing in climbing... Developing some experience i found that rebound was too fast for my riding style, so i decided to put heavier oil in it, but then i bought a mars elite that is working much better...
Strengths: Solid shock, holds up well to abuse, I've gotten into trials and am bashing this fork around before I get soemthing a more expensive. Long travel kit helps immensely, like others say, plush.
Weaknesses: Very Heavy 4.5-5 lbs.! On the upside, makes it a challenge to do a wheelie! Some complain about changing the oil, well Rock Shox's website has the information that makes it possible for a person who knows nothing about shocks, able to change the oil. I being one of those, changed my oil from the standard 5 weight to 10 weight with no trouble, a bit messy but hey, it's oil! Damping a bit loud, but new coil bushings quietd it down!
Bottom Line:
Great shcok for the beginner rider, or the weekend warrior/abuser, taken 5 foot drops with this and hasn't bottomed out yet, goes to show the 10 weight oil is working and I'm only 140lbs! Thanks Rock Shox for the easy to use online owner's manuels!

Strengths: Super plush, feels like a much more expensive fork
Weaknesses: none while it lasts...
Bottom Line:
Bottom line.....for the money its hard to beat it, although definitely not a fork for jumps or downhill, not so much for its performance but for the quality........mine is in the thrash now (one jump too much), installed an x-vert dual-crown....I'll see how it goes...

Strengths: Plush as a couch, smooth, and handles everything I send it's way.
Weaknesses: Nada, except not for the downhiller. Its plush enough, but not enough travel.
Bottom Line:
Great Fork , no complaints. Great anything. The only thing I would change is that it could be adjusted to be stiffer. Overall, unbeatable at the price.
