Strengths: Travel, Durability and StrengthWeaknesses: ROCK SHOX does not make the thru axle for the DHO anymore. You will have to bore out the threads and use the BOXXER axle in place.Bottom Line: Excellent and I mean it for DH racing. It may not have the travel as its brother the BOXXER but its performance makes up for it. Extremely strong and will take a beating on any drop. I highly recommend this product and it is a sleeper hit to products I have looked over in the past. A++++++++++++

Strengths: great stiffness
perfect amount of travel
Weaknesses: blew cartidge
Bottom Line: i reviewed this fork a year ago. over last season i blew the cartidge. i replaced it with a cartidge from risse racing they were very helpful. it added dampning. the fork is better than new now

Strengths: low cost, stiffness, quite serviceable, comp.damping resists bottoming. 20mm axle is stifferWeaknesses: tire clearance is limited, and 4" travel is xc/freeride., not convertible to any more travel. out of productionBottom Line: if you find one and it appears to be in decent shape (check inner tubes for scoring and wear and bushing play), and comes with extra elastomers and spring tuning bits and you can deal with 4 inches of travel and you don't need more than a 2.35" tire they are a very nice fork. take the time to clean,lube and set them up to your weight and riding style. Enjoy!!

It dosen't have room for DH tires. The DHO is old and cheap to buy.Its an OK freeride fork.

Strengths: doesnt really have anyWeaknesses: i dont know why they called it the dho it should have been called the fro because i dont know how you could downhill on these there super stiff and if you try to take out a spring from one side they bottom out to easy and they bottom out to easy even with them in thereBottom Line: if you have 150 bucks and want a fork that has a little travel then get this one but if you like to downhill and go to ski resorts dont get this thing save your money

Strengths: great stiffness not like the bouncy lousy suspensions
does the job everywhere(big rocks , small rocks , huge drops)
just love to play with it because it goes over anything and even when you´re going uphill !!!!Weaknesses: only that it should come with BOXXER stickers so that our friends got ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....Bottom Line: Just love it!
If you can´t get one because it´s gone or you are too damn serious racer to try it ..... you don´t know the opputunity you're misssing to leave those expensive boxxer behind and grab those dho!

Strengths: +20mm thru axle
+strong-reduced flexWeaknesses: -Price ($1200)
-Travel
-No HydracoilBottom Line: This fork to me is okay, but I will never ever buy such a fork brand new for $1200. But Rock Shox doesn't make that fork anymore so everyone's selling the DHO for around $200-$300. First off I like the stiffness in the lower sliders, thanks to that 20 mm thru-axle. The lower sliders have a bolt on brake arch design, which means individual parts are replaceable, if available. The 4-inch travel stroke is not pretty downhill wise, nor is the non hydraulic dampaning. If it were up to me I would name this fork the FRO(free ride.) My advice to people is that this fork is a better free rider than a downhiller, and this fork should only be used for free riding purposes only.
The Bottom Line------------------------------>
:) Ideal buyer- Freeride/urban assualt bikers who are on the market for the perfect fork without breaking the bank. This fork would also do good with Novice downhillers too.
:( Non Ideal buyer- Extreme Downhill bikers who should be looking at forks over $1000.
