Strength:

Very plush, low maintenance, easy to adjust, perfect for my riding style.

Weakness:

Maybe the weight, but that's not an issue for me. I know I can trust this fork.

I had it serviced once in 3 years ($50), it still feels brand new. It's plush, strong, ... Hey, it even looks good! My next fork will definetely be another Marzocchi!

It does exactly what a shock is supposed to do.

These reviews get a bit redundant. That's because the Z2 is so far and away superior that folks can't help but to be happy with it. I am amazed at the difference this shock makes. It really flattens out the small stuff and does a fine job with the big hits. As I was riding one of our local trails, I started wondering whether someone had come through with a rake and smoothed the trail. The difference was staggering.

The additional weight can't be listed as a weakness. It's not a design flaw. It's just a necessary by-product of an open bath and spring system and it's this system that makes the shock so great. The fact that the damping can actually be tuned is terrific. All my past shocks claimed this as possible, but that's rubbish. Maybe I'm not "in touch with my bike", but I could never feel any difference after adjusting the damping in the Judys or Manitou. Adjust the Z2's damping and you feel it right away.

I couldn't be happier with this purchase. 101 burnt bananas.

Gobbles up all the small stuff. Doesn't hinder hill climbing at ALL. It really allows me to ride better over rock beds and rooty sections. It's probably just adrenaline, but I swear it gives me a couple of inches on my bunny hops. Wow, what a cool looking fork.

Weakness:

I had to wait two years to get one. Wait, that's not Marzocchi's fault.

Since this is my first fork, I have nothing to compare it to, but I will say this...buy Marzocchi. I thought I was getting a 99 BAM, but I got a 98 (the price you pay for ordering online, I guess). It really doesn't matter; the fork is so cool. I can do things now I couldn't do before. I researched forks for 2 years before I settled on this one, but you can probably go with any Marzocchi Z-2 (or Z-1, I guess) and be happy. I read a lot of reviews that slammed heavier forks (this one's 3.5 pounds), but, since I weigh a whopping 175 soaking wet, I can deal with it. The BAM will leave you smiling over rock beds instead of clutching your wrists in pain. Ciao, Marzocchi!

I just got this fork yesterday,so I can't say how it works yet. What I can tell you is that all you people complaining about how heavy it is are whack. This big bad mutha' weighs less than my old manitou with speedsprings, and I'm sure it works much better. Five chilis for a superior product!!! Later Y'all.

I like to go riding with my cat ovede mecredi and he doesn't like these shocks. He hisses every time we go over a rock or bump. Once he flew over the handle bars and landed in a pile of buffalo dung! Poor stinky Mecredi! I love you mecredi, and swoo the monkey.

First of all I have been reading reviews on the Bomber for the last 6 months and have heard a lot of good ones and very few bad ones. So I decided to order a black Z2 Bomber without ever trying one out. I have to admit I was a little worried about doing this but with all the positive reviews here and in the mags it made me worry a little less. Well a week ago I recieved the fork and installed it on my new 9900. All I can say is WOW! It is very plush and rigid. The extra weight some people complain about I don't notice. Although I just switched from a Y-22 with a Judy XC which is not as light of bike(obviously)
As for the Judy, It may have weighed a little less but there is no comparison in performance. The Judy had to be taken apart and lubed at least once every 2 weeks. The small bump performance of the bomber also is a million times more sensative. I even had speed springs in the Judy. If there is anybody out there even thinking about buying this fork- do it. You owe it to yourself and will not regret it.
One last thing, I E-mailed Marcocchi with a question at 6:00 P.M. and had a response back in less than 2 hours. That's service! I love this fork.

I am totally agree with everyone here execpt the one who want us to bit him/her.....^_^ (he known he is wrong about it)
At first, I was going to get the RS SID for my new bike....after bike shop had convence me to get the Bam Z2 with great deal ($295). I am sold!
And thank god, I made a right decision! This Bam Z2 is so rigid and so plush. I was very surpise how this shock can do compare to my friend's FSX (judy sc with carbon legs). All the adjustment was simple and easy. You can easierly fine turn the shock to your personal preference...not like RS...so hard to notice the difference after the adjustment......It's like a day and night! The amazing thing about this Bam Z2 is you don't have to service it that offen like Rock Shock, they really last.
The only complaint I have for this shock is the paint job....they are not as good as Rock Shock, they chip off very easy....so, I recommend that if you looking for Bam Z2, go for the Crome/polish color, rather than painted.
p.s. Guys, go check out Rock Shock's stock price....is all time low. So you know who is taking away there market share now ....Marzocchi that is.
