Strengths:    air sacks are tough
cheap,
disc mount

Weaknesses:    the arch started lifting after a few months of riding had to have them at a real low pressure to get them to absorb moderate bumps but then they bottomed out to easily on the rougher downhills which then tuck it out on your wrists arms

Bottom Line:
good alround fork but watch the lower legs for sepperating

Strengths:    not too heavy (rock shock, suntour), not flimsy light garbage (rst etc). pretty plush - although it would realy benefit from some negative preload. Id a say same or better overall than an mx comp air

Weaknesses:    no negative air, getting a little long in tooth

Bottom Line:
get it if you can for cheap, put new oil in it , understand how it works, and ride till u drop!!

Strengths:    With the air pressure set lower than the manufactures spec (by about 10psi) this fork rides beautifully. It is a very easy for to service at home, with a good manual online.

Weaknesses:    The fork took a long time to free-up and move smoothly.

Bottom Line:
At the same time I got these forks two other friends got RS Judy XC's or SL's. Both the XC and SL's have required sending back to the importer for repair after they decided to start leaking oil. The whole time my z5's have just been getting better.

I serviced them after 18 months, replacing the seals (which were fine, but I figured since I had them open I may as well change the seals ... only $US20 for oil and air seals) and oil.

I am going to change the oil again soon, but not the seals.

Another friend also got a pair six months before me, and his forks have never seen a service of any kind. In fact they got pumped up for the first time in three years a few months back.

Bottom line. Nice fork, does everything I want, possibly a little bit too much sticktion. They last and last, unlike RS or Manitou.

Strengths:    Strong, reliable, very low maintenance. Haven't had a single problem since day one and it completely transformed my bike!

Weaknesses:    None I've noticed! Some say "heavy" but I'd rather have the incredible strength & confidence this thing inspires over a 3lb fork that costs twice the money and breaks down!

Bottom Line:
Unstinkingbelievable! Slight adjustments in air allow you to dial it in so easily! It tracks great and even under harsh downhill braking it stays true and flex free. Don't see how some find flex with it as I'm 6'4 240lbs! I was driving hard into a downhill corner yesterday - off of a long fast really bumpy descent and it kept me online and confident the whole way! This thing has turned my budget bike into a sick bomber! This fork takes any and everything with no complaints! Just silicone the stanchions occasionally and it'll keep right on delivering. Max chilis!!!

Strengths:    air control-if you are like a plush xc preformence you can adjust the presure to low psi and if you like doing endurance and all mountain ridind so you can adjust the presure to high. either way this fork is amazing.

this fork is very liable and he don't need a lot of maintenanceing

Weaknesses:    crappy stickers
no external rebound adjust

Bottom Line:
rhis fork is amazing! just adjust the air presure and the rebound and this fork can take everything.

Strengths:    Value and performance! This fork soaks up all the bumps, and can take much abuse. The 100mm air version is extremely plush and very adjustable

Weaknesses:    The arch on mine is starting to come off a little. Other than that, none.

Bottom Line:
If you can still get your hands on one of these, and are on a budjet, I would definately recommend this fork. Personally, it made my bike completely different. I'm very happy with my Marzocchi, as they are a very professional and successful company.

Strengths:    It's a Marzocchi, everything. Marzocchi=stiffness, durability, legendary ride quality

Weaknesses:    weight weenies don't even bother, look at the Marathons, or X-fly's if you want a light Marzocchi

Bottom Line:
The reasons Marzocchi's forks are seen on the trails that are 5 or 6 years old are still apparent in the current Marzocchi's. They're durable, stiff, responsive, and simply have that legendary ride that you can expect from a Marzocchi fork. I've had the fork for a year and a half, and haven't had one single problem, not one. I do five foot drops, urban rides, with lots of drops on flat concrete, and this four-inch air fork holds up just fine. Actually it holds up better than just fine, it's gotten better over time, just like a fine wine, as I've eventually found my "perfect" settings for air pressure, and it's just so smooth over bumps, large or small, and it tracks great on the trail. The 2003 EXR is the newer version. Buy one if you want a top performing fork at a lower price, and don't need to fiddle with adjustments. Buy it and you'll have it for a long, long time. There needs to be more chili's just for this fork.

Strengths:    Durable

Weaknesses:    none

Bottom Line:
This is a very good fork for those of you that want to do a lots of trails, but I've never tried any jumps. They don't need a lot of maintenace. Or maybe it's because that I don't ride a lot in those real dirty conditions. The damping is excellent compared with the other forks that I've tried before.

I think that the price is good compared to the 01 Judy SL that I was looking at. It was about 75 US Dollar more expensive than the Z5. I also think that the Z5 should of had more features like the ECC and the rebound control outside. You would probably buy this fork if you love doing trails and you want a fork with good travel at a great price. Don't buy it if you want a lightweight cross country fork like the Mars. I really hope that this fork can be lighter like 3.5LB and with the ECC. That would be sweet. If anyone from Marzocchi see this tell your boss about the last two sentences that I wrote, but keep up the good strength and durability.

Strengths:    alot of travel, reasonable dampening.

Weaknesses:    flex flex flex. on the brakes hard, the wheelbase shortens an inch at least. makes for scary transitions to cornering while flogging.

Bottom Line:
good travel, but the inconsistent geometry due to flex is unreasonable.

Bottom Line:
these forks kick some serious booty!! these, in combination with the For20 frame, make for a DJ bike that's so perfect I can't even believe it's mine! for those saying that it's heavy...yes, it heavy but compared to what? compared to judys? psylos? x-verts? this fork's gonna last longer and eat all those forks for breakfast, then go back fer a second helping for lunch...i put them on my bike a year and a half ago and haven't touched em since, and they're still just as good as when i bought them...5 flamin corpses of people who made the mistake of buying rs or manitou...

Strengths:    Strength, stability at speed, & beefiness Holds air very well>havent pumped the shock up in about 5mths.Seals are great!Little to no bob.

Weaknesses:    weight>but its not gonna last if its not burly

Bottom Line:
This bike & fork take more abuse than they deserve. They get launched off 6ft. slickrock ledges, barreled through the most technical DH's,and dragged up ridiculous climbs without even looking back! They withstand the serious abuse i dish out and I'm sure it can take yours too. I haven't pumped up the shock in bout 6mths which means its holding air very well even after hucking off more than a few ledges.I've taken this fork on epic excursions and it still performs like new...its a bit heavy but it is a low end fork that performs like a top end heavy weight.

Strengths:    Plush feel, cheap price, adjustability of air, 4" of travel

Weaknesses:    no rebound dampening adjustability

Bottom Line:
for $140 this fork is amazing. I think it is way better than any rock shox or manitou (for the same money) since you can add as little or as much air as you want you get it as stiff or plush as you want. Although the dampening isn't adjustable, the dampening that it does have is very close to perfect.
