    Strengths:    Best fork ever.
So very strong, plushest thing I've ever felt, looking down at 40mm tubes is very confidence inspiring. Makes everyone jealous, easy to maintain, etc.....

Weaknesses:    The monster makes me want to do things I know will get me into trouble. (jump off my neighbours roof, etc...)

    Bottom Line:
    Best fork ever.
    Period.

You cant find a fork with a better track record. That is why 90% of the pro freeriders use one. It is the strongest plushest and most reliable forks on the market.
If you find a good deal on one, get it. It will put your riding up on a higher level.
Plus you get to use the excuse: "The monsters made me do it."

Strengths:    This fork is obese. It is the best $hit on the market. It has 7" of the plushest travel possible. I is stiff as hell and it can take anything you can possibly throw at it. It has huge stancions that wouldnt even flex if they got run over by a truck. It looks sweet, huge and it is the best fork I could ever imagine. Nothing is better.

Weaknesses:    Weaknesses...none as far as I am considered. They are a heavy sucker but if you are enough of a weight weenie to worry about a couple of pounds in the sport of Downhilling and Freeriding than you should not be in the sport at all.

    Bottom Line:
If you buy this fork you will not be dissapointed. It wont break in anyway and it can handle absolutly anything. It is the beefiest, best fork possible. It also looks sweet on a 2000 vps 1. You can also (easily) get replacement stickers for the Monster if needed. Buy it and you will not regret it. If you are a crazy mother f who does big hucks, jumps and hardcore DH races than buy this.

Strengths:    This is a review for the new Shiver. It is stiff, for an inverted design, not even close to the stiffness of a Monster though, But what is. Super plush but ramps up under hard hits making it very hard to bottom although I have come very close to bottoming it twice. It resists bottoming better than the Monster T.

Weaknesses:    The reason I haven't bottomed it all the way is the two times I came close, the 3" tire hits the crown just before bottoming.(I have a head lock which sticks out about 3/16 of an inch) Marzocchi told me it was not designed for a 3" tire. Fork guards that come with it rub all the finish off, but I simply put a few zip ties on the uppers to let the guards run on and now they work great!!!

    Bottom Line:
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions, or just buy it and be happy.
The extra stiffness over other race forks may be an advantage. I don't race and appreciate the light weight, 8.25 lbs. I'm only giving it 4 chilis because of the tire clearance, which could be remedied by a smaller stack headset and taking out the big headset, thats how close it is, only a few mm to small.
If you want a bad ass fork to run into everything with that doesn't weigh to much, then buy the Shiver. I may be selling mine some day when I get a bigger frame, more travel, so check with me and I can make you a deal.

Strengths:    Everthing! Even though it is heavier than most forks out there, I could not be happier. The Most Plush, Strong, and Kool looking fork ever. Mine is actually the 2001 model. This fork is perfect for everthing: 15 foot drops, dirt jumping, downhill racing, urban riding, even the Shore. You name it and it delivers.

Weaknesses:    That it cause other people to think it has weaknesses about weight even though it does not. I am a 111 lb. 15 year old and I would not trade that strengthening weight for anything!

    Bottom Line:
Great bike for almost anything! I have heard people say it has crappie seals, butI have had no problems. As for weight, it will only make me stronger and faster.

Strengths:    The smoothest fork you'll ever ride and the stiffest, 7 in of travel next to none maintence

Weaknesses:    it's a little heavy but, i'm 16 145 lbs. and i can race it for four minutes

    Bottom Line:
since I'm no brute i was little skeptical coming of boxxers but my sponsors were right this fork did make me stronger and faster. It's plushness is unequal as well as it's reliability(a whole season only changed oil once).now i get to take my new found strength and push the new shiver around

Strengths:    The Monster T is very stiff, the through axle is quite easy to work with, its very smooth and well sealed and is very cheap compared to the first versions.

Weaknesses:    For all of you who think your gettin a 7inch fork your not. I measured the stanctions and the most you can get is 6 1/2 inches but thats with the crown up the highest it can go and you would need a real short head tube to get that or a massive drop crown. Most bikes dont have a short enough head tube and on my mates bike the best I could get was 6 inches which is still fine if it doesent bother you. They take a long time to bed in, and you need to change to thinner oil inside as the rebound is way to slow no matter which way you adjust it.

    Bottom Line:
Good fork for downhill/freeride if you dont mind that there not really 7 inch but there are better forks but they usually are dearer I would streatch for the shiver or the new boxxer. I give them three chilis cause of that travel thing but apart from that there really good.

Strengths:    The fork is the stiffest there is with buttery smooth travel will take any hit large or small.

Weaknesses:    it is a little hefty looking forward to the new shiver

    Bottom Line:
the only company that can beat this fork is marzocchi weight is the only problem but maybe i should work out a little instead of shuttling all the time, the only problem i have had is that it bottoms out on medium to large drops i think just need to put some more oil in though. this fork is for anyone who doesn't want to feel what their riding over.

Strengths:    umm, it looks meaty i guess.

Weaknesses:    I dont want to rag on it, i will try to be factual.
I installed it on my dh rig and took it out for a quick urban ride. It took me about 15 minutes to get to the city using sidewalks and bike paths and when i got there i noticed a small amount of oil was on the top of each seal. After riding (not jumping) down 2 sets of 10 stairs the fork would leave a drop or two of oil at the bottom of the landing. I figured, it was just two bad seals, no big deal. So i called the company and told them what happened. I wasnt expecting free seals but it would have been nice since the fork is brand new. I was treated very rudely and practicly called a liar because, according to the rep, the seals never leak under normal use. I was told i would have to buy some from my local dealer. I called my dealer and requested some seals. I bought two sets of seals so i would have some spares and when they finnaly arrived two weeks later my dealer was nice enough to feel for me and give them to me at no charge. Stoked, i speeded home to install the "new design" seals and go for a ride. I rode to town and noticed a small amount of oil was again at the top of each seal. Not wanting to jump to bad conclusions i decided to ride anyway. I launched off my favorite set of 12 stairs and when i came down the right seal allowed oil to leak out at a rate enough to get oil on my arm and leg. Went home and replaced the seal. Went for a actual dh ride and when i got to the bottom both seals had totally failed and my fork and disc brake were totally soaked. Went to dealer and got another seal and replaced both. Went for another dh ride and both seals failed again. That was my last ride on the fork.

    Bottom Line:
After repeated failures of oil seals and horrible customer service i am not interested enough to continue to ride the fork and plan to sell it. I have owned a 98 and 99 boxxer, and to be honest i feel the rockshox product is much better. The Boxxer has less travel on paper but it is difficult to tell while riding. (may be progressive springs but i am not certain)
I have had boxxer seals fail, they seem to last about 4 months or so, and when they do i call RockShox and obtain new ones in short order.
That brings me to another point, customer service.
In the past when i have called RockShox i have spoken to a guy named Jeff Hale and i cannot say enough about him. He knows the product, he uses the product, and he provides OUTSTANDING customer service. On the other hand the two times i called Marchoochie i was treated poorly and infirior, almost as if i did not deserve to use the fork.
My final word is this. Do your homework about the product, make up your own mind, and see how the company will treat you AFTER the sale. After this experience RockShox will continue to have me as a loyal customer and i plan to call Mr Hale tomorrow to see if he has a 2000 boxxer to sell me.
Happy trails and big drop off's!

Strengths:    The Thing is the biggest and baddest fork ever made!!!!

Weaknesses:    Its the biggest and heaviest for ever made!

    Bottom Line:
This Fork is one mean mother! In the technical $hit this fork eats the bumps for lunch. For all you weigh weenies, rubber band arms, and wusses, quit compainin about the weight! Sure its a porker, but it's a good trade-off constidering there is no fork that works or is made better! As Mtn bike quoted "Oil bath is the way god and MARZOCCHI mean it to be!" I got mine cheap, if u got the coin to spend, use it, it will cut your total run time guarenteed! I give only 3 chillies for value cause it aint cheap! and five for overall because there is no fork greater!!!!!!!
