Strengths: Reduces brake induced flex, makes brakes more powerful light weight, reasonably priced.Weaknesses: None.Bottom Line: Really increases braking power and control. Sometimes brakes seem too powerful (I only weigh 140lbs). Removed them while lightening the bike for a race but then put them back on to preserve the bike's fun factor. Also discovered a noticable improvement in steering. Must be due to added structural integrity the booster gives to the already stiff Noleen fork.

Strengths: does what it claims
looks coolWeaknesses: mud magnetBottom Line: Its light and looks good and now my rear brakes are as solid as the front. The rear brake used to be a little squishy and the rear stays flexed a little. Now I have to squeeze the brake considerably harder to get the stays to flex and the brakes feel better. For the price its a good addition to your bike.
My only gripe is that it took almost two weeks for Ionic to get it to me. I ordered it directly from them and they said it would only take three business days. Oh well, patience is a virtual. Its not like I was waiting for a wheel or something I can't ride without.

Strengths: Very light, cheap, nice folks at Ionic.Weaknesses: Not the stiffest one out thereBottom Line: I bought this because my Superfly flexed pretty bad under braking and my brakes felt like mush. They feel very solid now. This is not the stiffest booster out there. However, it is very light (45g). If I really squeeze the front brake the fork still flexes, but in practice I would be over my handle bars long before I noticed any flexing. For my purposes, this is the best suited booster. Anything substantially beefier would only be heavier (80g+) but not make a real difference on the trail. On the other hand, in applications where you do apply a great amount of force to the brakes and flex is a real problem (back brakes on some FS bikes) you will notice the difference between this and a beefier, stiffer booster.

Great price, great people, stiff, light, and real asthetic quality.Weaknesses:
noneBottom Line: These Boosters are just what the doctor ordered. They increase both power and range of modulation. The people at Ionic have been very cool. They are light and are a lot cheaper than the shimano garbage.

Bottom Line:
I also had spent many hours trying to rid my Cannondale Fatty D of the brake squeal when I read that a pair of brake boosters might help. I ordered a set from Ioninc for $20 a piece and got them 3 days later and couldn't be happier with the results. Squeal free for 4 weeks now, when before I would have to sand and adjust after every ride. As far as the looks go, these are some of the best looking, and the price makes them even more attractive!

Bottom Line:
After I tried all the usual tricks to get rid of the terrible front brake squealing problem I have with my cannondale fatty D fork, the bike shop ultimately recommended a brake booster. I borrowed the Shimano Carbon fiber model for one week end and was pleased to have found a cure to my problem. I did not like the $59.95 list price of the Shimano booster and instead opted for the Ionic Major Stiffy after reading these reviews. At $19 this booster works just as well as the Shimano, is about as light and looks much better. This is a no brainer!
Performance wise my XTR brakes did not need much boost. It is therefore hard to tell whether or nost the booster are making a difference.

Bottom Line:
I bought this booster to firm up the feel of my Avid TA II's on a Dean Colonel Ti frame. What a difference! The rear brake feels much firmer, and works as good as the front. Most importantly, though, is the fact that the anodized blue model that I purchased looks great on my bike! Five chilis!

I have 2 of these brake booster. One for my Gt Avalanche hardtail, and one for my Schwinn Homegrown XT fs. They work great and actually lighter than the AC or Tectro brands. Also, it looks really slick on my bikes!!!! Your brakes feel like a sponge, get one of these bad boys, you'll notice braking improvement immeiatly and tons of style points. CIAO, BABY.....

Bottom Line:
Iput on this brake beefer three years ago and love it. I was riding a Diamondback Zetec with snake stays. The chain stays are curved for strength but they flexed when the XT V-brakes were applied hard. The Ionic completely overcame the flex and added major stopping power. I only use one finger on the steepest downhill and have all the brakeing power I need. Besides, there's nothing like sporting a major stiffy! I rate it five flaming brake pads.

Bottom Line:
Been riding my Foes Weasel with XTR brakes installed. The front are plenty strong but the rear was a little wimpy. Therefore, I installed the Ionic Major Stiffy and the the rear have become powerful like the front. For $19.99 in Colorado Cyclist, they are a steal. The aesthetic of this aluminum brace is beyond compare. The hardware that is included is top grade and you can torque down the allen bolts to the brake studs (make sure to PUT LOCKTITE on them before installing). The customer service at IONIC is fantastic! I lost one bolts and all the washers. Called up Ionic, spoke with Eric and he took care of the problem and indicated that he will send longer bolts for my Foes. That's customer server and quality in a product. IONIC is the best brace out there, use'em on your full suspensions rig, your front suspension rig, or your trials bike -- IT WORKS!!!

Bottom Line:
I had a bit of squeaking and fade on my XT Vs until I installed some Ionic Major Stiffy brake boosters. All my troubles are gone. The brakes are smooth, predictable, and incredibly powerful. I think the boosters are a great upgrade for pretty cheap ($20/ea plus $5 for Fedex direct from Ionic) especially for heavier riders that need some more power.
