Strengths: Light, anodized alum, strong, it worksWeaknesses: what?Bottom Line: My 97 manitou had some terrible brake boss flex. After I installed the booster, there is barely any flex noticeable. I have to clamp down really hard to move the bosses now. Plus, the booster makes my fork track much better. My tires corner with more stability and I can go faster. The brake feel now is very solid and brake power per distance pulled by the brake lever is much better. Good stuff.

None so farBottom Line: I love this thing. I would have never been able to pogo on my rear wheel (I ride trials now) if I hadn't bought this little hunk of metal. I think maybe the new ones (like mine) should still have the two holes and a slot rather than just two slots, but it still gives me way more power than my wimpy seat-stays/xt V brakes ever could by themselves.

Bottom Line:
Got three recently from the Performance sale for $5 each(long gone). Put one on the Y bike in the back and I can see and feel that the back end brake posts don't flex as much anymore. Still some minor amount.If your brakes only flex things a minor amount, don't bother as I doubt you'll notice the difference. Agree with post below about looks.. industrial.But.. it works.. and its pretty much on the lowend in price. At $20.. I'd say.. only if you need it.

Bottom Line:
Pretty good booster for $ 20. Not too heavy, but the indifferent industrial design does not add to a bike's looks. Then again, you would have to pay $ 50 for the Shimano booster. Both do the job equally well, save yourself 30 bucks and invest in good brake pads (the standard replace-xt-with-koolstops etc).

Bottom Line:
Not unique looking in any way but definitely stiffens braking. Used it on my steel hardtail and it improved braking greatly, hardly any more flex. It can interfere with cinching down the brake cable during adjustments but all brake boosters do. It's light enough and pretty cheap. This is a good deal.

Bottom Line:
Just added AC brake boosters to a Cannondale and a Schwinn 96.1, a great upgrade for each bike. On the Cannondale I have XTR cantis and it aided in the breaking as it should do. On the Schwinn, braking was helped as well as handling, stiffening up the frame. I put AC boosters on the front and back. Good investment at $20 a booster. Also, with good cantis and brake boosters, really no need for v-brakes.

Bottom Line:
My Schwinn A96.1 frame flexed a lot in the back when I slapped XTR v-brakes on it, so I grabbed these (one for the front, since quadra 21r's aren't very stiff and I trials ride on my bike...). They're great! Beginner to Sport level trials-quality braking power! They hold, and stop great on downhills. No squeal or anything annoying, just power...Anyone want to trade their BLUE ac booster for a RED one???? I race on the UCLA club team, and well... RED just doesn't go with our BLUE & GOLD colors... It's in pristine condition... no scratches or undue stress (i'm probably just going to keep one booster for the back, as I'm converting this bike back into strictly cross-country...)

Bottom Line:
Although I love my 97 Joshua Z2, it wasn't perfect. The seat stays on the rear triangle had some very visible flex when I used the brake(XT V's). Freaked me out. Got the AC brake booster - problem 95% fixed. If you look at it very carefully, there still is flex, but not enoough to matter.
