Submitted by Larry Stone a Weekend Warrior from Napa, California
Date Reviewed: October 3, 2007
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $1500.00
Strengths:Incredible ride quality, durable, low maintenance and when the right chainstay developed a hairline crack at the weld, Litespeed repaired it for free, even thought they knew the bike was purchased second-hand and it was built for Merckx. They said it was a manufacturing defect and that they stand behind their work! This is an attitude more companies should adopt. I probably have ridden this bike for over 15,000 miles by now. It will last me for the rest of my lifetime.
Weaknesses:It is not made of the currently popular carbon fiber.
Similar Products Used:Nothing really this good.
Bike Setup:Campagnolo Record 10 Speed 2001
Bottom Line:A bike that is perfectly fitted to my small frame, 48cm, rides beautifully for long distances,is lightweight yet durable, easily maintained and beautiful to look at, and made by an American manufacturer that is proud to stand behind its work.

Date Reviewed: April 18, 2002
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $3000.00
Purchased At:build it myself, frame is from GITA
Strengths:light, quick, comfortable on long rides
Weaknesses:still looking,
Similar Products Used:trek 2200
Bike Setup:look carbon fiber fork, dura ace 9 speed(shifter, cassette 11-23, deraileurs, bottom bracket, brake calipers, mavic ksyrium elite wheels, continental GP supersonic tires, selle italia SLR saddle, ITM stem, cinelli handle bar
total weight 16.5 lbs
Bottom Line:completing several rides of 60 to 110 mile made believe that this is very good long distance bike, the lightness helps climb hills even with just a double crank.
Weekend warriors will appreciate this bike because you don't need to practice everyday to complete a century ride. Profesional cyclist might like a more aggresive geometry (but I am not a pro so this is just my opinion)

Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $1500.00
Purchased At:Halters Cycles
Strengths:The bike is super comfy, rolls over bumps in the road with pleasure, light and fast. Titanium is easy to maintain, just wipe off oafter using, no fear of rust. It simply makes you feel like a better rider no longer can blame the bike for a bad day.
Weaknesses:None, besides cost and rareness of an Eddy M.
Similar Products Used:Raleigh metal matrix, and Cannondale
Bike Setup:Full ultegra package, straight carbon fork "Profile". Thompson seat post, Orange Mavic's with Ultegra hubs.
Bottom Line:This bike is simply the last bike you'll ever own. Quality is top notch, titanium while costly lasts forever, timeless beauty. You'll never feel like you can do better Eddy is top of the line.

Submitted by Pat Agnew a Weekend Warrior from Ft. Myers, FL
Date Reviewed: November 1, 1999
Duration Product Used:
3 months
Strengths:
Light, smooth riding and loves to corner!
Weaknesses:
Not a bike problem, but as a spinner I had a problem adapting to the laid-back geometry. Merckx's AX is made for those who like to push a larger gear.
Similar Products Used:
Pinarello Treviso SL
Bike Setup:
Ultegra. Profile's BRC carbon fork is a nice compliment.
Bottom Line:This would be a great crit bike!

Submitted by Sheldon a Cross-Country Rider from Waltham, Mass.
Date Reviewed: July 28, 1999
Duration Product Used:
3 months
Strengths:
Equipped mine with Dura-ace 9sp. sti. Bike is light, responsive, stiff where it needs to be (BB), bought very forgiving on harsh roads. Strongly recommend upgrading to a carbon fiber fork. Has greatly helped my climbing especially on long rides.
Weaknesses:
Nothing yet.
Similar Products Used:
Lemond Zurich, Trek 2300
Bike Setup:
Bike is equipped with Shimano Dura-ace 9 sp. sti, and Brc carbon fiber fork. Has Mavic open pro wheels, Conti GP 3000 tires, Giro pave saddle, TTT bar & stem.
Bottom Line:By far and away the most comfortable, best fitting, lightest, most responsive bike I have owned. It's true, once you've tried ti you won't go back to anything else.
