Bottom Line:
Hello earthlings. I'm a mountainbiker from Finland, the homeland of the awesome Tunturi bikes. My Matrixx Matra cost me ~600 dollars, noticing the standard price being about 900$. So it was inexpensive, it even had a Indy C suspension fork. I love my bike, even though it has Shimano Alivio componens almost everywhere. So now some of you may laugh a little, but I've NEVER EVER had any problems with them. The rearderailler is a STX, and MY brakes are GOOD Tektro V-brakes.(upgraded from Alivios, 98-Matras come standard with STX-RC:s) The frame is made of 7005 aluminium, the total weight is ~12.8kg (20.5 frame size)The tires are the notorious Tioga Psychos, and the rims are Zac 19:s. I have nothing bad to say about them, either. I even used them last winter, in 15cm of soft snow, on ice...can't complain. A few things about my rides: Weather is no excuse! Here in Finland we have a cold winter, but let it snow, let it be -10'C and I'll ride. Even 15 cents of soft snow isn't an obstacle, it just makes things funnier! My indy C works even then fine, it just gets a bit stiffer. How many of you XTR bike owners have tried downhilling in 10 cents of soft snow on the top of 30 cents of hardpacked snow? Me and my buddy have done it for dozens of times, on Alivio bikes!!! And it goes a bit something like this: Carry your bike on the top of any high enough snowy hill, speed down trying to beat your buddy and not to hit the trees or big rocks! If you tumble and fly 3 metres over your handelbar, so what, the snow is soft! Sometimes I really miss the Winter, you dont know what you are being left out of! Summertime we do everyhing, trials in the forests and hills, downhilling, forestroads+trails... (i had to choose just one option!) To boldly go, where no-man has cycled before!!! With all this, Ive never broken a part out of my precious, bright-yellow Matra! Hooray, Tunturi! By the way, I gess you know the Tunturi GYM-stuff, fittness-bikes,etc. Tunturi has made bikes since 1922, but they are known only in Norhern part of Europe. Sad. But go and visit www.tunturi.com to learn something! Money isn't the way to happines. What is there more to say, everything works as it should. Five flamin' CHILIES!! Keep on biking! Peace.
