It is light weight enough to give you great speed when desired. The 110 -125% welds on this aluminum frame give it the durability you need to take it off road and down the slopes.
This bike is a joy to ride.

Strengths: Strong frameBottom Line: This bike is wonderful. I originally reviewed it in 1998, and since then ride it exclusively offroad. It rocks, tracks like a laser and I still use the Shimano Altus crank set (Altus is for street bikes)offroad. I call my bike Betty Blue, and she is very dear to me. Trek builds a great bike.

Bottom Line:
This is my first ride in 15 years. I bought the Millenia HT because I will do mostly city riding, and needed the srtong frame if an off-road bike. The tires are fat and smooth, it has Grip Shift shifters, shok-absorbing handlebars, anda shock absorbing seat post. I bought it today, and my butt is sore! But I love the bike. It is very fast, makes really tight turns with those tires, accelerates very, very well, and really glides over the pavement. The frame or the wheels are not as rigid as I like, and I like extreme rigidity. You can test that by riding the bike about 7-10 mph, and really shaking the handlebars clockwise and counterclockwise hard and fast. That really stresses the frame and wheels, and will give you a good indication of how stiff the bike is. Still, the brakes are awesome, the tires grip like wide racing slicks, and I can really thread the needle. A definate winner, and I bought it new for $349.00.
