Strengths: I love this bike. I've put about 2200 miles on it. Light, fast, good climber, fits great (20.5 inch frame).Weaknesses: painful seat, although it is light. Crankset had problems with the chain getting wedged between the smallest and middle rings, which SUCKED. A mechanic fixed it trying a few different chain rings, but it still happens rarely. The mechanic told me otherwise, but I still think the mounts for the chainrings are slightly off or something.Bottom Line: Great bike, if you want a light high-end all-round cross country bike.

Strengths: Stiff Frame/Great Geometry
V-brakes/Brake Pad Replacement
Very LightWeaknesses: Rear Spokes (Replace all of them)
Squeaky Seat
Ritchey Pedals (Require CONSTANT attention)Bottom Line: The Specialized Stumpjumper Pro is an excellent value and deserves high marks for its component set-up, i.e. XT/XTR.
It is recommended that the spokes on the rear wheel be replaced with a stronger gauge immediately upon purchase, or suffer carrying your bike down many a trail.

Strengths:
What a bike! Climbs great, handles great, feels light and great stock parts.Weaknesses:
The freakin spokesBottom Line: This is an update to my review in Jan in the Comp or Stumpy page.Just wanting to point out some of the weaknesses I have found on an otherwise excellent bike. 1. The Manitou SX-S shock top preload cap is crap! I am now on my third cap because it will break if you are not careful when you adjust for more preload. You can't get an actual four to four-and-a-half full turns. I suggest you stay at three full turns down. Also the shocks were set up with red MCUs which are way to soft for anyone over 200 lbs. Creates to much sag with this setup, and the cap broke the first time trying to firm up the preload too much. The threads on the preload cap will strip too if your not careful. But, I finally have it dialed in with two and three-quarters yellow MCUs with three and a half turns of preload. for my 220 lbs.2. The original saddle is a squeaky muther. Replaced it.3. Now the stock spokes on the rear wheel (the black ones with orange nipples) keep breaking now (I have a little over a thousand miles of winter riding on it), at least every time I do an aggressive downhill, one will break very annoying. I think they had spec'd the bike for weight. I've broken about a half dozen spokes and am now getting them re-laced with 14-15 guage spokes. 4. Chain suck. Not sure what is causing this. I'm keeping the chain very clean and waxed well. I've had to wrap most of the chain stay with tape and decals to build up a good layer between the stay and chainring. Also quite a bit of chain slap on the top of the stay.I ride fairly aggresive and in rocky stuff so these are basic probs that you want a high end bike to take care of stock. I've never had the problems with the Fishers in the first year or so of riding them. Still the Stumpy is a great bike and the XTR rapid-rise rear derailler works great and has made a great change in my uphill shifting. I would by this bike again for the $1,000 U.S. I paid. Was five chili's, but now four for the shock and spokes!
