Date Reviewed: July 30, 2008
Favorite Trail:most single tracks
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $500.00
Purchased At:scott usa
Strengths:when i got a hold of it it had a acceptible group set (shimsno deore/alivio)the frame was a nice durible frame
Weaknesses:every thing besides the group set and frame i would call junk
Similar Products Used:first mountain bike i ever owned
Bike Setup:marzocchi dj 3 forks, mavic rims, bontrager stem and seat, avid mechanical disc brake, took the front derailer off so its only thre 32 tooth sprocket with a e13 chain gaurd, wtb stout 2.3 tires, and im going to put a bit more into it but so far im 600$ into it
Bottom Line:if you look for a buget bike that can be thrown around and that is a great beginners bike for cross country, and light trails this bike might be it but if your looking for somethin other than that save up that money and buy something else

Favorite Trail:guincho seacoast
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Purchased At:jasma stand LX
Strengths:scott yecora disc 04´ has a neat frame and radical finishes (colours and design) with good value for price and possible upgradings and street adaptation.
Weaknesses:still the weight after taking off the 12 useless steel bolts + origine parts such as radical slim seat, the slipery pedals, the loose chain.
Similar Products Used:ive replaced the seat for a xsenium lookin gel seat + the pedals by wellgo spiked bmx + purchasing a new front fork suspension marzocchi.
Bike Setup:from origin = front suspension rock shox judy tt, deore shimano shift kit, IRC tires, scott components for the rest
Bottom Line:for biginners like me its a great reliable and affordable freeride bike but not for radical riding.

Bottom Line:Reasonable price, very good for beginers.
This bike good for Cross Country.
First priority you should change the 'Sadle'.
Then you can upgrade gradually base on your budget:
If you want to reduce the weight you should change:
1.Shock
2.Hub
3.Handle bar
4.Seat post

If you want to use for extreme XC change the components:
Crank or buy Shimano Deore XT group set.

Favorite Trail:Glentress
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $500.00
Purchased At:Bike Trax, Edinburgh
Strengths:Response, Components, Design
Weaknesses:Weight
Bottom Line:After toying with VERY cheap end mountain biking, I decided to take the plunge and get the Yecora. To say I was most impressed would be an understatement.
I soon came to love its responsiveness, the new found agility to stop on a penny (unless on loose gravel!) From a armchair warrior, this bike has had me out on some of the roughest trails Scotland has to offer!

Submitted by Roland Werth a Cross Country Rider from Darmstadt, Germany
Date Reviewed: January 4, 2001
Favorite Trail:Frankenstein
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $500.00
Purchased At:Böttgen World of Bike, Frankfurt
Strengths:nice worked frame
color
Weaknesses:heavy weight
poor parts
poor fork
Bike Setup:yec 20,5 now w/ SID XC, XT complete, Mavic 517, syncros stem&seatpost, Flite
Bottom Line:The first thing to be changed were the wheels. They couldn't stand any hard ride and were heavy in weight. Next came the fork, the original RST 260 has no variable setup and bounces you around. giving the fork a lithium-grease package inside made the thing work better, but best is my new SID. Saddle was nice, but stolen in 1999. I definetly find the Flite better. The rear derallieur worked till last year, then I changed it for a new one (9speed). The front derallieur was damaged and had to be changed.
Altogether, the parts are the poorest I've ever seen, but the frame is nice. Ideal bike for beginners.
