Favorite Trail:Thetford, norfolk
Duration Product Used:3 months
Price Paid: $572.00
Purchased At:Pauls cycles uk £424
Strengths:Great frame and rear pivot. With a deore groupset the whole bike handles great and at £424 a bargin.
Weaknesses:Front suspension forks are very average, with lots of travel, will need upgrading in the short term after some good abuse.
Similar Products Used:GT Timberline, schwinn
Bike Setup:Med travek front, firm rear
Bottom Line:Great alround bike for weekend mud plugg'in. Other bikes of this spec were £750+ and with the Scott quality its never let me down.

Date Reviewed: March 9, 1999
Bottom Line:

this bike would not look wrong with a four figure price tag. It is one of the best entry level bikes I have seen. It says on the frame cross country but this bike makes a perfect dual bike an with a little more travel it would make a great downhill bike. the bike comes with irc mythos tyres but they can be changed at purchase. The suspension fork is excelent for a budjet fork because the knew hidra coil by rock shox is great at eating smaller bumps. There are two main problems with this bike and tey are the forks (jett) even though they are the long travel version are too weak and will bend at the first decent dirt jump an probly bend the weel as they are weak as well. Over all it is an excelent bike for someone with not much cash to burn.
