$350.00 | | Purchased At: | fred meyer, Fairbanks, alaska | | Strengths: | Light frame. VERY strong. | | Weaknesses: | I have an older model with that caame with a Hatta Vesta headset (good) and a cheap quill stem of undetermined construction (bad) it also had generic canti-brakes originally. (piss poor)EXTENSIVELY modified, see below. | | Similar Products Used: | I was a die-hard roadie and tourer prior to this bike, but piddled with a FUJI Cadenza rigid MTB back in the day. i have owned takaras, Bridgestones, and Mongooses. | | Bike Setup: | SR 9006 fork, Acera X front and rear derailleur, Speciallized son-of-a-strong arm crank with avitar and deore LX rings. Alloy chainring bolts, spoke nipples and shift-biscuit pulleys. Suntour cogs, SACHS chain, UN72 BB, deore LX hubs, 15 ga nipples, Specialized GX26 rims. JD suspension stem and bar ends. SDG saddle. Wellgo clipless peddles. Avid levers with Scott Pederson SE cantis. GEAX Grid tires. funky valve-stem caps that look like 9 mm bullets. | | Bottom Line: | fantastic bike stock - although castrated by its OE equipment. great for bike-trailer types and commuters alike. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$375.00 | | Purchased At: | Sears | | Strengths: | Light for the price 30 pounds, very strong frame, looks like a more spensive bike, good maniobrability, the sr suntour fork isn't the best but does the job very well. | | Weaknesses: | Painful saddle, cheap pedals and tires, the sr suntour crank make metalic sound that drives me cracy. | | Similar Products Used: | Next, Kent, Hush bmx | | Bike Setup: | Shimano STX RC crank, Well Go 800 clipless pedals and Sonne stem. | | Bottom Line: | Is a very good bike for the price. I can ride any dificult trail in this bike and it cost me less than the mayority of my fellow bikers. If you are a xtreme weekend warrior like me this bike is for you. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

Everthing else is functional to good. The handling is a little stiff and unstable. But for under $400, it's the best bang around I saw. No other company came close to offering the same quality of materials and brand name components (acera, shimano, zoom, alum. frame, suspension) for under $500. Looks great too. | Overall Rating: |
