from hailton, ontario Date Reviewed: August 25, 1999 | | Duration Product Used: | 1 Year | | Strengths: | it looks really nice, makes a beginer feel lke he's/she's got a special bike. i will give it credit though, it has nice handling. that's all. | | Weaknesses: | the looks don't make up for the weight, i swear it weighs 35 punds!!! after a year i needed new rims, on both tires, a new bottom bracket, new brake pads, new seat, new wires, new tires, new pedals, and i had to have my stem and handle bar replaced because they cracked!!! | | Similar Products Used: | i have had a whole line of run-of-the-mill garbae bikes given to me. | | Bike Setup: | it started off with alivio brake and shifters. and no-name rims and hubs. it's now got lx hubs and mavic 138 rims with xt BB and kick ass pedals. | | Bottom Line: | i don't know what raleigh did when they put this thing together. i realllt don't think that i'm hard core. i'm not really. i only go mountain biking about once every 2 weeks but it seems that everything on this bike has died at least once. NEVER BUY IT!! you'd be better off going to wal-mart and buying one of their death trap bikes! | Overall Rating: |
