endlessly upgradable frameWeaknesses: headsetBottom Line: I bought this bike 5 years ago, the frame is so light even though its a 21" frame. The feel of the bike is just amazing, it corners like its on rails and responds to everything. Have recently upgraded the shocks and the drive train. Only problem is no rear disc mounts!

Bottom Line:
I bought my Orange O2 in March this year ('98). It came with Orange's rigid F14 forks, XT mechs, STX-RC v-brakes, shifters and chainset. I ride a mix of short downhills at local woods along with various singletrack areas. The Orange has performed amazingly in all cases so far. The aluminium frame is incredibly light, giving the rigid bike an overall weight of around 23lb! The frame is stiff too, giving the rider a real feel for the terrain. All Shimano parts have of course performed well too, with the XT mechs doing the excellent job expected. I've now fitted some '98 Marzocchi Z2's to the bike, along with upgrading the Orange Hot Rod flat bar to an X-Lite XC riser bar and changing to LX shifters. The bike has now done the impossible and got even better, with the addition of the super plush and responsive Z2's. It tackles all terrain with incredible ease, being equally at home on the tough ascents as well as the fast downhills where it simply flies over all obstacles and round all corners. The riser bars are simply a personal preference and give a more controlled feel to the ride with their extra width. The whole thing now looks absolutley trick and is a dream bike with its polished alloy frame and red decals, red forks and red bars. Definitely a great bike and a very worthy purchase which will be around for years and which Orange (or any other manafacturer) will find hard to beat, especially at this very competitive price. No doubt that this deserves 5 chillis!
