Strengths:    Solid frame, decent brakes, solid components, good tires, great bike for the money

Weaknesses:    rims are a little cheap, cables rubbed frame paint off on a few spots, pretty cheap manitou fork that's not very adjustable.

Bottom Line:
I was pretty impressed with this bike. I rode it for a year on a pretty regular basis, and overall it was a great bike for the money. It climbed great, shifted really well and really didn't give me anything but great riding. My only complaints were the fork which wasn't very forgiving. The frame on this bike is very solid. Would really recommend this bike to someone getting into mountain biking who wants a solid bike to just log some time on. It worked great for me and then I upgraded. Great bike for the money!

Strengths:    Frame, Deore rear derailler; disc brakes; durable

Weaknesses:    A little on the heavy side, but at this price that is what you get.

Bottom Line:
I ride Annadel 3-5 days a week in summer; 1-2 in winter. Lots of rocks. This bike has taken it all. Nothing has broken except when I hit a big rock with the chainring. The only changes I made were clipless pedals and a suspension seatpost. I just changed the rear cogs last week from the stock 11-32 to an 11-34. At my age (56) I need a little more help up the hills.

I would recommend this bike to anyone as a first mountain bike. Not a lot of $, but plenty of value.

Strengths:    Solid frame, takes a beating.

Weaknesses:    Rims bend easily, grips suck.

Bottom Line:
Good for the price but may want to consider Cannondale or comparable bike if looking to ride more than once a week. Lots of fun to ride although the stock rims are weak. If you think you’ll be riding anything more than a flat trail, you may want to consider a full suspension bike instead of a hard-tail. Good bike overall if you’re not too serious about riding.
