Strengths:    good ride

Weaknesses:    over mid weight, components aren't the greatest(STX RC)

Bottom Line:
Good intermidiate to more advanced bike, nice frame. All the components should be changed however.
It's a good bike to play on if you are short on cash.
Newer models are better equipped than the previous models.
A new fornt shock should be installed once you become more hardcore.

Bottom Line:

I recently purchased the fs NX 8.3. Unfortunately Im a rookie mountain biker, didnt have alot of time to shop around and there is only 1 bike shop in my town, so I bought the bike sight unseen on the shops recommendation and from the literature. I know. I'm a dummy. Anyway, the Monggose literature states XT componentry. To me this would mean that the majority of the componentry would be XT or at least comparable. The only XT component on the entire bike is the rear derailer everything else is STX-RC. All in all the bike rides fairly well (but what do I know? I'm a rookie). I have added a Risse Racing Jones kit to the Indy XC fork. This made a noticeable difference to the plushness of the front end. I also added a Race Face crank set (trying to lighten things up).If anybody has any reviews on the NX 8 series I would appriciate it I havn't been able to find anything on it. Also any ideas on lightening it up. I'm giving 3 chiles if for nothing else cause it looks so cool.
