Strengths: 2005 Kona Caldera. Great bike straight out of the box. Shifts flawlessly you can't even hear it switch gears at the back. Suspension is very good there is a clear difference between the soft and hard setting.Weaknesses: None. Stock tires not good for mud. But why would a bike come with mud tires??Bottom Line: Great bike good components good value for money!!

Strengths: Durable Steel Frame with a smooth schock(Marzocci bomber) and LX/XT 9speed for under $1,000. Kona makes a bike that handles real nice, and it's a great climbing bike.Weaknesses: Great bike for the money ,no real weakness.Bottom Line: The best bike for under $1000 for a cross country rider.

Bottom Line:
This bike rocks its the best thing for the best price, It has Avid Single Digit 20 brakes which are one of the best, almost all STX-RC parts except for the rear derailleur which is a Deore XT. Overall good perfomance and light weight 26.9 lbs. Comes with Ritchey Logic Pedal. The only down side is that it comes with Rock Shock Judy T2 shocks. They could of jacked up the price another $50 or $100 and put something a little better. But the Judy T2's is still a good shock.
