Strengths:    Light, Stable, & Strong! Very Predictable.

Weaknesses:    Stock wheels and shock are not as nice.

Bottom Line:
Love the frame! gonna keep upgrading the rest as able. Switch out the fork and the wheels asap. On newer Jamis bikes components are better but I'll live. This bike keeps me happy. For the price paid for the ride I have no regrets. Jamis = Quality!
(Great for trails AND heavy Urban Assault I might add!)

Strengths:    Frame rivals those found on $1200+ bikes.

Weaknesses:    Components too much on the low-end for agressive riding. Rims tacoed after two weeks. OEM tires about as good as slicks.

Bottom Line:
Buy this bike for the frame. It truly rocks. Holds up very well. Figured I'd have trashed it by now with the amount of s**t I've put it through... But replace all the components (unless you get a newer model, the components are much better). Don't get me wrong, the components on this baby are decent for the $650 I paid (closeout for a '98 model). Really though, for someone who doesn't ride too agressively, this bike can't be beat. Just be prepared for the rims to taco if you start doing trails or north-shore style rides. And if you ride in mud (Yay for Vancouver BC), you've got to change out the tires unless you want to hit every tree on the way down. I'd definitely get another Jamis frame! Five flaming llamas, minus one for the sucky components!

Strengths:    This bike rocks. Best bike on the market for its price point.

Weaknesses:    Shock is a little weak.

Bottom Line:
This bike rocks. When I bought my Jamis in 98' It was the best overall bike in my price range. I have tested many bikes and this bike outperformed them by far. Price point in 1998 $800 - $950

Weaknesses:
rims and front shock had to be upgraded quickly

Bottom Line:
I have raced for three years in Europe and the US on my Eureka and it has held up very well. I bought it for $500 in 1995 and slowly upgraded some parts as they wore out. The frame was a little small for my 5'8 frame but I had a long stem put on it and so it is very responsive on the trails for handling.

Bottom Line:
Incredible Bike. When I bought it, I didnt want it. I had my mind set on getting a Mongoose I was looking at. But after riding the Mongoose, I decided to better go with something better. Now I love my bike. Logged in over 800 miles and I am hooked. I have ridden other bikes but nothing compares to the comfort, stability, and performance of my Jamis. Jamis blows them all away. And no one else has one so that is a definite stroke on the ol' ego. I am a believer.

Bottom Line:
THIS BIKE IS INCREDIBLE. I JUST STARTED RIDING AGAIN AFTER A LONG BREAK AND I BOUGHT IT USED. FOR THE PRICE, THE BIKE IS AS GOOD AS ANY OF THE OTHER UPPER END HARDTAILS. THE BIKE IS AWESOME. FIVE STARS IS MY VOTE.
