Strengths: It has great components and has a good, solid built frame. Acera shifter is really fast and responsive.Weaknesses: I haven't found any yet.Bottom Line: This is a great bike for what I paid for it. It has great components and is easy to repair and upgrade. Great for a weekend warrior like me or for the hard-core redwood hopper. I give it 5 flaming chili's!!!!!!!!!

Strengths: Strong frame. Aluminum.
Great value.
Best parts spec for price
Weaknesses: Un-reaplaceable derailer hanger
Headset has no seals
Front hub is not sealedBottom Line: Great for light trail riding and for getting into the sport.
Used it in a coulpe races. No real problems other than the hanger in the back has had to be straightened 2 times. You get what you pay for and in that case it's a steal.

Bottom Line:
I just purchased a 99 Outpost and it's great! A 100% aluminum body for less than $350. This bike performs great and is worth a look. The tires grip the turns and does great on climbs.(WTB Velociraptors) The Shimano rapid fire shifters a a blast to use. This bike is worth every penny and then some. Only upgrades need are RockShoxs.
