Submitted by Mr. Grover a Weekend Warrior from OC, CA, USA
Date Reviewed: October 10, 2004
Favorite Trail:Weir Canyon
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:Auction
Strengths:Excellent all-around. Lightweight frame is paying off as I update components.
Weaknesses:None found yet
Similar Products Used:Nothing really similar except Decathlon 6.1 FS. Other than that, Rigid Rockhopper Comp and Rigid Giant ATX
Bike Setup:SRAM 9.0 ESP shorty shifters and rear derailleur (8-spd), stock STX-RC front der. and cranks, old Club Roost Go Fast bar, stock avid levers and v-brakes
Bottom Line:I just bought this bike used and love it. This is my first quality FS bike and I'm a beginning XC rider after many years of bike path and light trail riding. If you find a good deal like I did, buy this frame!

Date Reviewed: February 21, 2003
Favorite Trail:Deer Flat
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $650.00
Purchased At:bikesale.com
Strengths:Plush rear suspension; actually works well with the Judy T2. Lightweight for the price; can be built to very low weight! Haven't broken any parts on it; I probably don't ride this bike enough.
Weaknesses:Rear end flexes a bit, but not enough to take away from a solid ride. The Judy T2 can rebound a little fast for my taste, but still gives a decent ride.
Similar Products Used:GT RTS-Team
Bike Setup:All stock except for XT front der.
Bottom Line:Great bike, but doesn't corner nearly as fast as my GT RTS (although the v-link is way more plush). It has a higher center of gravity compared to my GT; so it doesn't feel as "safe" for me, but it has kept me out of trouble when passing by big rocks that would have taken a chainring off my GT. If one could be found used for cheap, I would highly recommend considering it.

Date Reviewed: September 24, 2000
Favorite Trail:crest creek
Duration Product Used:2 Years
Price Paid: $2300.00
Purchased At:dave's bikes and more
Strengths:stable, light and plushed for xc racing. not as heavy as the their x-links frames, which is made for recreation due to its weight. v-link are designed for racing.
Weaknesses:no sealed bearings but who cares, the rear it still suspense smoothly and effortlessly. avoid the carbon manutou.
Similar Products Used:specialized fsr xc (too flimsly), sc heckler (too expensive), lightspeed fs (yes they do make fs too), x-link (too heavy)
Bike Setup:xtr full w/ x-rays gripshift, raceface stem w/risor bar crossmax, manutou carbon fork, flite saddle, kore post
Bottom Line:this is actually a v8 with is the same as a v3.2 and i race the bike for 2 seasons and loving it. even thought it is not set up for downhilling like others but it can handle it just as well. you point and it tracks like a beauty on water. climbing this rig is just amazing. if you have the leg muscle, this rig graps the dirt so well that u will climb like a mountain goat. i won a couple of races too over those hardtail teeth shattering riders. it feel so nice beating them on my bike that i been just grin at them to rub it in :)

You know DB don't make these bikes anymore so if you can get your hand on one, get it. It is destined to be a classic. I been trying to get a back-up V-link for awhile now. If you know anyone who is willing to part with theirs, drop me a line.

happy grinding!!!!

everything

Bottom Line:it's a 1998 but who cares, this bike is all duked out. I bought a nice set of wheels from my man Greg George. Tomac brakes, now the next setup is the fork. It weighs around 26 lbs. which is pretty good for a full suspension. i rides excellent for cross-country rudding. It blows away the Santa Cruz bullit. Yea baby. I give it a
