Strengths:    Great for long trail rides, light, can't scratch the paint :-) Seems to be well built. I've been riding it for several years and haven't had a single problem with it. It climbs better than any bike I've ever ridden.

Weaknesses:    No suspension. I guess there are trade offs - it sort of sucks on roots, but on bigger hits it's not bad.

Bottom Line:
If you're looking for a hardtail the Dean is worth a look. Can't find any faults....

Similar Products Used:   The only other hardtail trail bike I've owned was a Cannondale - it was the top of the line hardtail they offered in 1992 and it was WAY ROUGH!

Bike Setup:   MOBY seatpost, flight seat, not sure what the stem is, xtr brakes/shifters etc, CrossMax wheels, RaceFace crankset.

Bottom Line:
So far so good. The bike is light and fast. It accelerates very well (but not as quickly as my old Stumpjumper did), and its very smooth out on the trail. Good handling even with the relaxed angles, very stable at speed.........climbs well, but you can feel some flex in the chainstays. Verdict is: as a trailbike 5 stars, as a racer 4 stars..........

Strengths:
Uniqueness of brand has its own strengths. Weight of frame and ride of Titanium

Weaknesses:
No replaceable hanger.

Bottom Line:
This bike accelerates like a redneck who just got fired. Uphill and downhill it just goes fast. The ride is awesome. It accelerates like aluminum and soaks up the trail like a steel bike with attitude. The one thing it does best is climb, and the next is twisty rolling singletrack. I've built the bike at about 21.9 pds. (I also work at a bike shop for the last 3 years.) Using good old reliable XTR. Nothing beats it. If only I could ride it more and take it to new and exciting trails..
