$700.00 | | Purchased At: | Ebay | | Strengths: | Looks Great, Rides Even better. Best Full suspension frame ever imho (Referring to the aluminium frame and not the carbon fibre one)
| | Weaknesses: | Wish the shifters were rapid fire, or a smoother grip shift like ESP 9.0. The brake levers (LV-78E) dont look/function that great either. The front stx-rc derailleur could be upgraded to XT
| | Similar Products Used: | Bianchi Alante, Mongoose DX60, Schwinn Voyageur, Kawasaki mx, Pioneer
| | Bike Setup: | Stock | | Bottom Line: | Love the split pea color - main reason for purchasing the bike. Could the down tube be any bigger?? takes 2 hands to wrap around it.. looks like a rugged SUV of bikes.. Very comfortable ride, and easy on the back (and eyes). Could do with a better front derailleur - stx-rc doesnt cut it.. the rear xt is smooth.. Front shock could do with a bit more travel, but you cant have everything you want ;-) Gotta give it 5 flamin turds on value, since I got it for only $700 used lightly. 5 flamin pigeon droppings for overall rating too... since the stx-rc front derailleur can be replaced inexpensively.

For a start it kills people with it's defetive brakes, and gears that need a monkey wrench to change. It has a wornout rear shock that is going to explode and blow my legs off. The headshocks are also crap and bottom out like a biscuit. | | Similar Products Used: | Full suspension ammaco | | Bike Setup: | All set ups are crap | | Bottom Line: | This bike is wackand gives me excessive nausea like a biscuit | Overall Rating: |

from Blacksburg, VA Date Reviewed: October 3, 1999 | | Duration Product Used: | more than 3 years | | Bottom Line: | I bought a '97 Super-V 900 a couple years ago, and at the time I thought that it was an incredible bike. however, now that I've put some serious mileage on it, I have one thing to say... NEVER BUY A CANNONDALE!!! why? 1) two of the bearing races physically fell out of my headshok 2) the rear shock pivots wore out, and it's hard as crap to get stuff from fox 3) the bottom-bracket shell makes an awful creaking sound at every pedal stroke - i took it to 3 different shops, and $120 in parts later, it still isn't fixed. This is supposedly a common occurance in cannondales, but nobody knows what causes the creaking 4) Cannondale's customer service sucks. Big time. Just ask anyone who has had a warranty issue with them! | Overall Rating: |

from Adirondack Mountains,N.Y. Date Reviewed: March 21, 1999 | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Strengths: | Light enough, takes abuse,kick-ass looks | | Bottom Line: | Retails at $1850., but got mine for $995. as a leftover '98. Once you dial in the suspension for your weight/style, it will handle everything you can throw at it! Tightened the Fox spring in the back so she won't bounce under power, and it keeps the tread stuck to the bumps and I still have lots o' travel. I got the large frame which comes stock with the blue spring in the Fatty D, rated for riders 140-200lbs. I'm 6'-200lbs. and needed to install the stronger red spring (rated 200 lbs.+) for $25. Got 60mm. travel, haven't bottomed out yet. Tracks like a dream, WAY better than dual forks! This bike makes you wanna drive crazy! So why would you get a hardtail, just to save 2 or 3 lbs? THAT'S DUMB! Save your back and go faster over the knarlies with F.S.!!! Lose a couple lbs. o' fat by riding harder/faster with a better handling F.S. and blow past the wimps! Super V's kick all serious forms of ass. You will RESPECT mah AUTHORITAH ! | Overall Rating: |
