Strengths: Light, easy to throw around, I've had it for about 8 years now and only had a complete refurbishment done once, got thousands of miles out of it and I still love riding it. Front suspension can be turned on or off (don't know if this is a regular feature of a Cannondale though).

Strengths: climbs like a crazy monkey, nice paint job, brakes (stopping power is fantastic) lockout
Weaknesses: funny noises comming from somewhere (brakes),rear xt hard to tune, saddle, paintjob glued over the frame (sticker)??
Bottom Line:
this bike is too damn expensive,i think that kona caldera is better choice but handmade yellow cannondale is always a big eye catcher where ever you go! This bike lives his true self only off road...Fizik saddle is also handmade and not very user friendly...Velo is always better solution for me... Frame is fantastic, lightweight, but paintjob is very sensitive cause it is glued over the frame??? buy Kona Caldera and save your money...nobody needs this expensive bike while you have other options thet perform even better then this baby .Keep it simple...children in africa are hungry...
Strengths: Overall weight and durability, component package, excellent downhill manuverability, climbing power
Weaknesses: Had some problem setting up the CODA hydrallic brakes
Bottom Line:
The weight makes it very fast and the head shock, despite bad pub from other people, I found it very responsive especially in hard stuff. The bike climbs everything and never seems to stop.
Headshok needed serious servicing a year ago, but still runs perfect since Miller's Cycles of Norman, OK rocks the Casbah.
My XL frame came with an XL Stem that kept sending me over the handlebars, I traded out for a 150 stem with a little more rise and now it's perfect. Weighed in at 24lbs, lightest bike on my trail and it's the tallest.
I found frame used and built it up for under $800, otherwise you're stuck with Coda and $1000 price tag.

Strengths: Solid climber and overall good performer. Headshock on/off switch really helps. Frame is stiff & light.
Weaknesses: Short travel on shock (50mm). Semi-cheezy component selection (combo of XT, LX & Alivio).
Bottom Line:
Overall a decent bike. The frame is stiff & light and helps with the climbing. I'd like to see a solid XT spec'd bike without being boned on the price.

i just bought a nice 2003 F 600 frame off ebay and it came without a headset on it. is there anywhere you can order them online at or is it a dealer item only? also are the headset Read More »
