Date Reviewed: March 14, 2001
Favorite Trail:French Alps
Duration Product Used:More than 3 years
Price Paid: $2200.00
Purchased At:www.loisirs-vtt.fr
Strengths:Light and responsive frame
Nice/stiff fork, when it works...
Weaknesses:Fork : I had so many problems. Bearings, oil & air leaking.
I now have a brand new '01 cardrige which seem to perform better.
Similar Products Used:Specialized M2
Bike Setup:Stock, except Crank (RaceFace turbine LP) and seat (Synchros/Flite).
Bottom Line:Very good bike, I guess that the '98 fatties SL were not the best/trouble-free forks. I hope that the problem is fixed with the new models.

I'm thinking of getting a new bike now, maybe a '01 F2000.

=> 'Only' 3 chilis because of the fork.

Date Reviewed: February 27, 2001
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $2200.00
Purchased At:Onion River Sports
Strengths:Incredibly fast and light. Headshock is best fork I've ever ridden. The lock out on it helps emmensly on the climbs. The air makes it very adjustable. Disks brakes have performed better than any other system in all conditions. The xt, xtr components are flawless as usual.
Weaknesses:Tires are spec'd for dry conditions which doesn't work in all conditions.
Similar Products Used:f2000 sx
Bike Setup:lefty shock with similar components to the sl
Bottom Line:This bike is amazing. I have never ridden such a completely rounded machine. I had doubts about cannondale from there past failures but this bike changed my opinion of them completely. Worth every penny of it.
