Strength:

This is a review of the frame only. Mine is a '97, 6061 alcoa aluminum. Very stiff. I weigh over 250lbs, have strong legs, and I tend to stand and mash. I have never, ever, ever felt this frame flex. It has stood up to a fair amount of abuse, but I've never done any big drops with it either.

Weakness:

This frame has a very harsh ride, as one might expect from a stiff aluminum frame, and you do feel everything. The only other complaint is the lack of tire/mud clearance at the chainstays. little nitpicks: the bottle cage bosses on the seat tube are off center, as is the squeeze gap at the top of the seat tube. The paint looks good, but tends to "craze".

A very good frame for the money. The bottom bracket is a little low for where I ride, but that's not really a flaw, just a quirk. It accelerates pretty well, holds it's line pretty well, and for the money, is very rugged. It doesn't do anything really well or really bad. All in all, it's a fairly mundane frame that just does its job without complaining. I don't regret buying it,as it has never let me down, but I probably wouldn't buy another one either.
At this point, I'm looking forward to either steel or full squishie..(ouch). 3 flamin'coyote turds.

Strength:

So far the frame is indestructable.

Weakness:

None so-far

This frame will take a he!! of a beating. My friend rode K2 5000 with full XTR and a 4 inch front fork. On a trail outside of town there were a couple of small creed bridges but the creeks were dried up. After using the bridge onthe firts two we missed the third bridge and went through the creek. Much to our suprise the creek bank had been built up with an 15 in log covered in grass. We both hit the log at the same time and went flying like students of superman. When we finally landed we returned to the scene of our departure from earth to find the k2 fram crunch like a pop can and mine not even scratched. It did manage to mess my rim up pretty good though. So anyone who wants a frame that won't break, rides and climbes great, I would suggest a Caloi team XC.

Having owned a bike shop for over 5 years, I have carried and sold as many
as 11 major brands. For me to bring Caloi into a shop already supporting as many brands was a risk. I started riding the Team XC in January 1998, and havelogged over 1400 XC miles on the bike. I feel that this bike ranks as
one of the best bikes I'v ever ridden. The quality of the frame, choice of componetry, and bike for the buck led me to ride this bike and pass on to the consumer my findings. Caloi has released to its dealers a FSK version (full-suspension) Thats the next project. As for the Team.....Its definatly a BEST BUY!!

Strength:

Agile and responsive, great climber

Weakness:

I bought the bike used from a local shop, and I have had to tune it what seems too many times. I,m 6'2", 165lbs. and when I climb it seems to come ot from under me. I may still be getting used to the bike.

This was a choice score and well w/in my budget for the amount of bike I got. Overall It rides fast, quick and responsive, yet not so stiff where you feel like your going to bounce off your bike (Although, I wouldn't ride without cleats). Its light enough it climbs with ease, (even when I don't) and teh downhill smooth like butter, its like I am softly gliding over the trails, so that when I look down I could taste a rock or two (that, of course is tasting in a good way). If your lookin at one, love hardtails, and the price is right, and your the weekend warrior type, its all the bike you'll need (that is until you see your next lust and can afford it). Don't hesitate.
