I purchased this bike based on the good things I
have heard about brodie products. I have concerns
however about the quality of my frame and durability of the product in general.I have purchased three new Trek mountain bikes
in as many years in the 1200CDN price point and
have been very pleased with the product and the
performance. I thought I could do better with
Brodie and Canadian products. My mistake.I shared my concern with regard to the heat bow
in the stay and was told by the shop owner that that is normal at this price point. I shared my concern by e-mail with Bruce Spicer at Brodie and was told this was a 'S' bend that the great Paul Brodie himself used on the handmade bikes of old and is now being replicated in the factory in Taiwan. The cockeyed seat stay bothers me so much that
I am selling this bike now. I will lose money
but when I'm riding my new Trek at least I won't
feel like I'd been had.Buyer beware. I purchased my bike over the telephone from Toronto and picked it up in
Vancouver. Inspect the bike carefully before leaving the shop! I know most of Brodies frames
are perfectly turned out at any price point but
be aware that a percentage are not so good and
that they generally try and sell them.
