Strengths:    Its a Kick ass west coast built bike! ITs tough and light. (mine weights in at 39 lbs.) The Devo handles 5-6ft drops with ease, and kicks ass on the fast single track and dirt jumping.

Weaknesses:    The new Hayes brakes have a tacky friction fit plug where you bleed them from by the lever, it popped off and puked oil everywhere. I lost the plug and my front brake for the entire day. That sucked.

Bottom Line:
This bike is bomb proof. Its great to see a relatively small BC company pumping out such rock solid bikes. Go get yourself one.

Complaint - climbing.. Why the hell am I climbing with a 43lb freeride bike anyhow? Answer = torture and bad decision making...

Weaknesses:    None... My lame climbing skills

Bottom Line:
Buy one. Great, canadian and badass!!

Date Reviewed: June 9, 2001

Strengths:    This bike kicks some serious ass, it's a great flatlander free stylin and downhill bike.
this was my second bike and the only one that could hold up to jumps and ramps over 5"!

Weaknesses:    The only weaknesses were the climbing capabilities with it being 200 pounds that weighs you down going up steep hills the other weakness is it's stock componet cranckset I upgradeed to higher quality set for better pedaling but the rest is all original and runing like a dream

Bottom Line:
the bottom line is that this kick ass bike can hold its own plus some but when your ready for a serious downhill and freestyle bike come and look the devo up

Date Reviewed: August 7, 1999

Strengths:
super strong frameset.
plush suspension.
full hayes hydraulic disc.

Weaknesses:
wheelsets not strong enough (sun rhynolite suck ass).
freehub bodies lick pouch and cannot be upgraded to anything.

Bottom Line:
this bike kicks some serious-ass. not a great climber but who gives a cuz it more than makes up for it on the flats and the downhills. you can launch a five foot drop and it sucks it up like a slut on prom night. this is a great bike from a small hardcore westcoast bike co. b.c. bikes are the best in the world!!!

WTB Laser to Devo

Hi, I had a WTB Laser on my bike and it was a great fit for my bottom... now I'm in the market for a new saddle and I'm evaulating the Devo: it has more or less the same width/length of the Laser and it seems a bit lighter. I'm wondering if the fit is similar: anybody who swapped a Laser for a De ... Read More »

Alternative to WTB Devo saddle

I've got a WTB Devo on both of my bikes, very comfortable saddle. Unfortunately, they last less than six months before the cover starts to tear. WTB don't seen to have an email address to write to and I've had it with spending so much on a part that should last a lot longer - this is the only saddle ... Read More »
