from Cranbrook, B.C. Canada Date Reviewed: January 19, 2000 | | Favorite Trail: | Teeter-Totter trail | | Duration Product Used: | 2 Years | | Strengths: | Very stable at slow speeds, yet handles like its on rails at high speeds. Steel gives a beautiful ride and is fairly forgiving | | Weaknesses: | Paint sucks and if you want to put tires bigger then 2.25 you may have some problems with clearance | | Similar Products Used: | Dekirf team SL, Generation, Norco nitro and rampage | | Bike Setup: | all XT except for race face head set | | Bottom Line: | Kick ass bike for all the trails you want to do. strong, resiliant and one hell of a great ride for all the types of riding whether your into fast singletrack or big drops, this bike is an affordable steel frame that takes a lickin and keeps on tickin. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

from winsor ont Date Reviewed: October 17, 1999 | | Favorite Trail: | 3 stage | | Duration Product Used: | 3 months | | Strengths: | solid looks great great feel | | Weaknesses: | paint job sucks alot of ass | | Similar Products Used: | cannondale | | Bike Setup: | RS XT wtb RF | | Bottom Line: | The atomic full suspension is so great. I love it . It is a little over priced at $2400 (canadian), but I got it for 1500 because all the bikers out in Ontario don't know about the bike makers out west. One thing realy that pist me off about this bike was the s^&%Y pant job that I will have to get redone in a year or so. | Overall Rating: |

from where it rains Date Reviewed: July 8, 1999 | | Duration Product Used: | 6 months | | Strengths: | The lovely, well-designed steel frame | | Weaknesses: | Easy-to-scratch paint | | Similar Products Used: | RM Hammer, various Kona's, Specialized... | | Bike Setup: | Original but for a RaceFace post | | Bottom Line: | Love the bike. Spent months trying to find a new bike with a decent setup for a tall rider, the '98 Brodie Nucleus was the only one that came close. Brodie seem to be the only ones in my price range who realized that a bigger frame goes better with a longer head tube...the riding position was downright silly on some of the bikes I tried, my hands were so low.Great ride, it loves to be thrown into corners, the jury's still out on the Rock Shox but it's not too bad. Whining about the paint seems petty, but it really does scratch at the drop of a hat.Get a Brodie, you'll be happy. | Overall Rating: |

from freeland, wa Date Reviewed: April 15, 1999 | | Favorite Trail: | Rock Field, Gold Bar WA | | Duration Product Used: | more than 3 years | | Strengths: | Frame quality, weight and strength and the NW design. Control Tech fork work exceptionally well on cross-country eating bumps for breakfast. | | Weaknesses: | brazed on cable routing noodle at the join of the top tube and seat tube. This noodle is not a good idea in these days of V-brakes. Routing is difficult to impossible, and needs to be bypassed. The same fork that makes the bike rock on X-country doesn' t cut it well down steep descents, wanting to dive forward too easily. | | Similar Products Used: | Trek, Kona, Specialized, Klein | | Bike Setup: | Sovereign with Control Tech Lawwill Leader fork, Kooka, XT, V-brakes, Control Tech stem... | | Bottom Line: | The bike is the best I've ridden for responsiveness, and strength. The frame is supple yet vicious. | Overall Rating: |
