About one year ago, my Dad bought a BRC Treker that was used. I think he
paid 600 Cnd. After about three days I took it over. My friend has a
Mongoose Iboc 0 and my other friend has a specialized Rock Hopper. Now
although these guys paid 75% more than my dad, on long bike trips, I have
no problem keeping up (I don't have shocks either). This just proves
that you don't have to pay a lot to get a decent bike, but name brands are
