Strengths:    Not a bad for even for a guy that weighs 225. Nice entry level fork...it has served me well. Going to keep it for winter riding to save my new "nice"fork.

Weaknesses:    None to speak of

Bottom Line:
Upgraded to a Rock Shox but I am still keeping my grind....just in case.Great fork no complaints...started giving me a small bit of trouble after being out for hours at 20 degree temps. But come on no one likes the cold.

Strengths:    OEM(Original Equipment), cheap if it came on your bike. For commuting and EXTRA LIGHT XC (Cross Country) use.

Weaknesses:    EVERYTHING!!!

* crappy preload
* bad for mud, rain, etc.
* maintainence heavy, suspension "fades" after an hour of riding after lubrication/maintainence
* a bit heavy
* either too soft or too stiff

Bottom Line:
IF THIS COMES ON YOUR BIKE, replace it if you actually ride off-pavement. IT IS ONLY GOOD FOR SMOOTH PAVEMENT COMMUTING. If you purchased it separately, you wasted your money.

Any "true" mountain-biker should sell this fork ASAP. It will only lead to problems down the road. It is a POS.....

Strengths:    It's an actual suspension. Not much maintanence needed if you don't care about the performance of the suspension.

Weaknesses:    Preload completely stumps new riders like me. Too stiff for me (I weight 180lbs). It seems to "fade" away right after it's taken from the shop and used. Information about this fork is difficult to find (on the internet, anyways).

Bottom Line:
It's only good for entry level riders who don't like tuning things or don't care about suspensions. For those of you looking for info on this "insync grind" fork, take a look at these links:

Strengths:    ummm cheap i guess, fairly responsive on the trail

Weaknesses:    preload is weak, short travel, bottom out easy expesicialy off drops 3+ foot

Bottom Line:
i hated these forks, they are crap for anything other then light XC or commuting and the preload broke off a 3 ft drop.....3FT!!!!!!, i would suggest sumthing like my current forks (SR Suntour XCR 100mm travel), much nicer feel and not too pricy!!

Sunday gravel grind, finished up with this pic...

I had a nice long gravel grind on Sunday and the end of my journey took me past a oil field biz. I saw this truck in the front row and couldn't resist taking a picture. I probably got 30-40 goatheads in my tires when I set up the shot, but I think it's worth it.Read More »
