Duration Product Used:2 Years
Strengths:Stiff, light , quality build, unequalled after-sales support, beautiful to behold.
Weaknesses:Price (but still worth it!), you may forget to unlock the lockout and there is no blow-off, I'm trying hard here but there aint many weaknesses!
Similar Products Used:Countless 26" forks, not so many 29ers.
Bike Setup:Karate Monkey with 8 speed XTR and avid discs. It's a freak of a thing but hey, it's my second bike.
Bottom Line:This fork is a classy item. Very stiff, buttery smooth, wide range of adjustment, nice lockout (just don't forget when it's on!), and very light. The quality is superb and it looks damn hot! Easy to service (I've done a complete strip down with normal tools). The after sales service is outstanding (not that you need it much), it's a real credit to Eko Sport. If I had to get picky I'd like to see the plastic cap on the air valve replaced with something shmicker. The retail price may seem steep, but when you ride/look at/service this fork you realize you get what you pay for.

I can't understand the next reviewer, I've ridden a lot of XC forks (that's what this is remember, an 80mm single crown fork that weighs next to nothing) and this is one of the stiffest around. Perhaps comparing it for stiffness with a dual crown DH fork is a little unbalanced? Shame it had to effect the rating of this outstanding piece of kit.

Favorite Trail:Mr. Toad's
Duration Product Used:1 Year
Price Paid: $749.00
Purchased At:LBS
Strengths:Light.
Weaknesses:Super flexy. When I'm riding on wash-board stuff, the fork doesn't even slide on the stantions, it just flexes back!!!
Similar Products Used:Only 29" fork I've ever had. I used to have a WB DC 110. That was a great fork.
Bike Setup:Dos Niner, King and XT.
Bottom Line:Get the Maverick.

Date Reviewed: June 17, 2005
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:Original Equipment
Strengths:Extremely smooth, rigid. Lockout works great.
Similar Products Used:Fox Vanilla RL, Manitou POC
Bike Setup:Dean Colonel 29er, XT
Bottom Line:This is a great fork! I had a 26" mountain bike with a Fox Vanilla RL, but a bike vs. car incident terminated that bike. So far I absolutely love the fork. It is stiff, extremely responsive for turning, smooths out both individual bumps and washboard type stuff, and gives great feel of the trail. Overall, I would rate it as being equal to the Fox fork for what I use it for - some commuting on roads, some riding on trails off road. When I was ordering the bike I was hoping to find a Fox fork because I was so pleased with my last one, but Fox did not make a fork for a 29er when I was ordering the bike (1/05). As you can tell from the review, I have been extremely pleased so far! It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Favorite Trail:Cottonwood
Duration Product Used:3 months
Purchased At:WhiteBro's Factory
Strengths:Very well made and super rigid.
Weaknesses:Kind off fragile looking (but no problems) commpresion/lockout lever. Not super adjustable. Spendy.
Similar Products Used:Marzzochi Marathon 29"
Bike Setup:Seven Verve 29er
Bottom Line:If you want a quality suspension fork (29er), and are the kind of rider who wants suspension, but is not all that obsessed with fine tuning, buy this fork. Just put it on and go. Very well made, and excellent rigidity, even with the big wheels. It tracks straight and true in all conditions. Lockout feature works well. If it was cheaper, it would get 5 chilis for value, but RockShox etc probably have better performance for the price, but the quality and stiffness are not there. Good support from WhiteBros (EKO sports). Give the shop a visit when you are in Fruita (Grand Junction). Good guys.
This fork is built to last.
