Strengths: Good looking, very solid, easy set up... They just get on and do the job... very smooth ride.Weaknesses: Dunno.... possibly not the lightess forks, but who cares...Bottom Line: I was told to buy Marzocchi's cos they're solid and reliable.... and they are!! Strengths: eats also small bumps even set up for much heavier rider (see bottom line)Weaknesses: 2005 crown does not seem to be very stiff, but it is just my opinion, however 2006 crown is nicerBottom Line: this is an xc fork, but I use it for light freeride, so I had to use higher air preload (i have 70kg and the preload is set up for 100kg rider), but now the fork does not bottom out even at 5 feet drops and it still remains sensitive at small bumps
however, now i would prefer some Dirtjumper or DropOff, but I had this MX for a perfect price

Strengths: looks good, works good for the most part, eta is actually very functional and real handyWeaknesses: support at OEM tricky...a little bouncy when landing after a hop or drop. Doesn't track very well because of this, it is sometimes hard to stick to the line you have chosen. Not real good for bridging XC with All Mountain like I hoped it would.Bottom Line: I upgraded to this fork from a manatou super axel...what a difference that made! It is a little heavy but I am not real concerned with that. Here are the problems with support- I blew a seal where the rebound adjust(bottom right leg) I figured "It's a Marz right? Good company no problem!"
I left several emails for the service department or tech department, whatever- and finally called.
them- simple fix do it yourself
me- fine but does that not break warranty?
them- yes it will
me- I have less than 20 hours on this thing, what sense does it make to break warranty now when I hope to get at least 2000 hours out of it?
them- it doesn't... send it to us for repair.
me- will do, what about turn time?
them- we are in the middle of a transition of sorts, it will be a week or so before we will issue you a RMA number so you can send it back. Once you recieve that you can go ahead and ship it. then it will take a month to repair, another week back to you.
me- better idea- i send you the shock in a week, you place a hold on my credit card and send me a new one, release the hold once you have recieved the faulty fork.
them- Italy will freak if we replace a fork that is so simply faulted. We can't do that. Sorry about the turn time.
me- other options?
them- there is a guy in NC near you who does this- Suspension Experts. He will perform the warrentied repair cost free to you. get with him and mention my name.
me- thanks, out.
Suspension Experts of Ashville- No problem, will take two days to ship here, less than a week to repair, and two days back. May have a loaner if you wish?
Me- There is no reason you should be out of a fork because of them, thanks for the offer though.
SE- No problem, will get right on it for you!
Moral of the story-
Suspension Experts of Ashville NC are great folks. Marz did what they could (???) but when I bought the thing I was hoping for better support- it is a good thing they are not hesitant to outsource their warrantied repairs or I would be slamming them. When you pay for a product you expect to get what you pay for including the back-up from the manufacturer when things go wrong otside of your control. Suspension Experts came to rescue for Marzocchi on this, but it is only fair to point out I was directed there by Marz. BTW- I recieved an answer to my email a week later asking me to call them- good thing I had already done that :).
The fork blew this seal for no good reason at all. It was secured in the back of my truck on the way home- was fine when it was loaded but when I got home there was oil everywhere- I hope SE can discern how it happened..I guess I am lucky it didn't happen while thrashing a descent!
This situation forced me to sub a Manatou Super Air SPV, which is an AWESOME FORK! I hope there aren't any issues with it down the road because I really dig it! It is strong where the Marz is weak.

Strengths: Excellent value for the fork. Big stanchions, great rebound once broken in. No servicing neededWeaknesses: A little heavy, but only if you are supper weight consciousBottom Line: This is a good fork for someone who rides 3-5 times per week doing about 12 miles per ride. I love the fact that no maintenance is needed. I hate cleaning or fixing anything. This fork is simple to setup, and it rides nice. Keeps the front wheel glued to the ground. at 200 + lbs. it holds my weight well. No bottoming even at my weight. I ride with about 50lbs. air. May not work with the lighter rider.

Strengths: price, buttery smooth performanceWeaknesses: weightBottom Line: bought this to replace the rubbish suntour nex 60s that came with the bike. completely transformed the bike. sharp steering, minimal flex. the shock was set up with 50psi and that was it. buttery smooth bump absorption. rebound maybe a bit heavily damped compared to other forks but not a problem for me. highly recommendended. i actually prefer this fork out of the box to the reba race poploc on my new klein but thats another story.

Strengths: - Easy Adjustment
- No Plastic Parts
- Very Stiff
- Low MaintenanceWeaknesses: - Limited adjustability?Bottom Line: It's a Bomber in every sense. It's tough, it's low maintenance, and it'll take hits all day long day after day after day. This is a great fork for anyone who just wants to get up and go. Adjust the air pressure and rebound for your specific weight and you're set up for a long time. If you ride cross-country and want a fork that will handle it all no matter what you're skill level is, this is the fork for you. It will easily handle a two or three foot drop, but I wouldn't push it much more, It's not a downhill fork. The only person who shouldn't buy this fork is someone who likes to tinker with things... I imagine they'd be very bored.

Strengths: Simple setout_steel_caps_no plastic_stiffness_good nameWeaknesses: none yetBottom Line: I recently upgrade the OEM skareb fork to the MX COMP AIR to better compliment my weight and ride style. I am 95kg or 190lbs. The skarebs just bottomed and flexed under me. My bike shop kindly upgraded the fork to this one with a small fee for the difference in cost. I have ridden about 50 kms with the Comp and so far i think my confidence has increased. It rides nicely over most obstacles at high or low speed. I did find that the psi i needed was about 15 lower than the manual recomended, and it still maintained a good resistance to bottoming, and i have tried. The stiction that people talk about with these forks is there but i find it barely noticable once the fork seals warm up a bit on the track. I dont think its even broken in yet. I find this fork great for all round stuff and some heavier action too. It allowed me to ride the downhills i would normally avoid. There is very little flex and holds the wheel on the ground well. Most of all its simple. You have more time to concentrate on ride technique rather than worrying about rebound as its internally adjusted. Just set the preload psi and ride baby. This is deffinitely a keeper.
