Date Reviewed: December 14, 2006
Favorite Trail:Backyard
Duration Product Used:6 months
Price Paid: $150.00
Purchased At:Topgear
Strengths:Versatile. Can be used from XC to more aggressive styles. Can even handle some nose-dive drops. Plenty of adjustment options. Air pressure, coil preload, rebound. I'm a geek, and i'm delighted. :-)
Weaknesses:.. Marzocchi!!, the cap underneath that's used to adjust the rebound fell-off after a normal downhill run. And my fork's only 4 weeks old. Shame, now I would need pliers just to adjust the rebound. I've seen in some forums that this part of the EXR is really flimsy.
Similar Products Used:DNM S-80A (eeww), Marzocchi Mz Comp (another eewww), Marozzochi OEM (i don't know what model), and some Taiwan piece of Sh@t..
Bike Setup:Shawn Cycles H-2 (4.5in rear travel). All-mountain set-up. This frame is a no-name, i think, but definitely kicks ass.!.
Bottom Line:This fork is quite cheap but a worthy upgrade for beginners and intermediates. This fork is versatile, just a few turns in the coil preload, a few pump of air, and this fork can be adjusted for XC, AM And even DJ. For me, a good buy if you don't have enuf money for the All-mountain series of Marzocchi.
