Strengths:    sucks up everything I throw at it; reliable

Weaknesses:    stock spring too soft, change if you're a biggie (simple to do)

Bottom Line:
With the right spring, you can't bottom it; with the stocker, you SURE WILL! Sturdy, take bumps well, adjustments are easy and noticeable (1/8-turn will affect the ride). 5.7" travel means you can tackle a LOT of stuff -- I took an 8" curb on a commute without pulling back on the bar, barely felt it.

Manitou Nixon Comp Spring

I recently purchased a 06 GF Fat Possum and it came with a spring that is too soft for my weight 5"11 200lb. I believe its the one that came with the bike. The only stiffer one that i found was this one: ("extra firm" - ... Read More »

Manitou Nixon Comp - is there a way to lower/limit travel down to 130mm?

I've got a Nixon Comp with thru axle - would love to lower/limit the travel down to 130mm if possible. Can it be done relatively easily? Lowering it is the key factor really, but I'm guessing in order to lower it that also means reducing travel - which I'm fine with. Any advice is greatly appre ... Read More »

Nixon comp for my Jamis dakar?

I just got my new Jamis dakar not too long ago, and have been riding the heck out of it, and have been super dissatisfied with the 100mm manitou splice comp fork that it came with, it makes my hands ache like the dickens on the rocky downhills I love so much. I found a nice Manitou Nixon Comp 145 ... Read More »

My Manitou Nixon Comp - mystery fork

So I bought a 2005(?) Manitou Nixon Comp on the cheap. At least that's what I think I bought. Because I can't figure out what's the deal here. The reason is because this fork a) didn't come with a specific manual, and b) is like no other Nixon I've ever seen, in real life or on the Manitou websit ... Read More »
