Strengths:    Light, stiff, ready 4 action, more than I expected 4 the price

Weaknesses:    Lack of ajustability

Bottom Line:
Good one 4 the price, sweet ride, efficient and will work no matter what, meets the requirements for the extreme XC mountain biker, can't complain man, although it ain't at all 4 a downhiller, but it is very effective to ride @ high speeds on technical trails, Xtremely reliable.

Strengths:    travel 100mm; air preload; good absorbs medium and big hits.

Weaknesses:    Very little sencivity for small bumps after few mounth, especially if lower legs are muddy. NO adjusts except preload and internall travel (always 100mm)

Bottom Line:
good & durable fork for unpretentious beginner. Without extreme use & with maintenance can work for years. I've dropped from >1m to flatness and this fork ate it well, I've travelled for weeks without roads and it worked as well as after purchase.

Strengths:    very responsive on single track trails. i ride about 4 times per week, so i give it quite a workout. i have not had any problems as of yet. i would recommend this for any beginner that wants a shock that will take a good pounding.

Weaknesses:    had to adjust the air pressure for my weight. i am about 200 pounds and sometimes when im really getting it on a hill, it does not seem to rebound as fast as i would like it to. however, it has not bottomed out on me yet.

Bottom Line:
i love the way my bike takes on some of the obstacles that i ride. my pilot provides me with a comfortable ride every time. as hard as i ride my bike, i can only be impressed with this product. hopefully, i will be riding on this shock for a few more years.

Strengths:    Intermediate bumps barely noticeable, the spring coil/compressed air combo is excellent. Smooth and light, great for beginning riders who want to tackle tougher trails.

Weaknesses:    Not for larger riders, perfect for those under 150 lbs

Bottom Line:
Plush shock perfect for newbies who want to go fast over decently-sized obstacles

Weaknesses:    none, just use it as it was meant to be used. no downhill please as the shock has limited travel.

Bottom Line:
good entry level shock. great on road. rides like a jack hammer on downhill gravel and semi compact trails. gave me upper shoulder aches.

Strengths:    They're on the Fisher Tassajara.

Weaknesses:    You have to be skinny to apreciate them.

Bottom Line:
I like these shocks. They support my weight well on the trails and even on big dirt jumps. I've got them set at 50 psi and they won't bottom out when I hit the ground.

Strengths:    no-nonsense, smooth, takes bumps very well, stiff. Very comfortable. I ’m not interested how it looks I just want it to work and keep on working. Air ajustment works good.

Weaknesses:    It makes clucky, metallic sound on very heavy, short bumps.

Bottom Line:
Last week-end I did the 100 km marathon in Lommel, no pain in the arms. Taking it to the Ischgl Alps (Austria) next week for next challenge. First impressions or OK.

Date Reviewed: March 31, 2004

Strengths:    Stiff and reasonably light, fork seems to iron out most bumps and definitely takes the hits and impacts away from your arms and hands.

Weaknesses:    Too soon to tell, will post again after a decent trial in a few months time.

Bottom Line:
I'm used to riding with mostly unsprung front ends, and this fork came on my new '04 Fisher Tass as standard equipment.

On my first ride I was very pleased with the way these forks soaked up the bumps and ruts on my local singletrack trails.

So far I have no real complaints, but will re-post after I give them a proper testing over the next six months.

If I had to pick something to moan about, it would be all the damn stickers all over the forks. I prefer the clean uncluttered look on my bikes, and I think that the stickers make it look 'cheap' imo.

More to follow later as I get some miles on them.

Date Reviewed: March 19, 2004

Strengths:    Takes pretty big drops well, very little lateral flex

Weaknesses:    The U-Turn device can be sometimes be damaged simply by over turning the knob and it is a little noisy due to the coil spring. No "on the fly" adjusting for travel.

Bottom Line:
I just rebuilt my Psylo XC because the rebound unit plunger seal failed. It was no problem to do, but I was a little upset that it would fail after only a few months. Other than that, now rebuilt it performes great. But I have just ordered a Manitou Sherman to replace it.

Date Reviewed: February 27, 2004

Strengths:    Has a decent travel quality for price.
Front Wheel has Stayed attached.
Goes up and down

Weaknesses:    This fork is flexy. and verry soft unless you pump the air pressure up to 50-60 psi. Atchung the max recomended Psi is 50.
Also I blew a gasket on mine probably due to above.

Bottom Line:
I would not buy this fork as a seperate Item or upgrade. However it came on the bike and whial it isn't great it certainly works. I would definately be concerned about durability I am 6' 150lbs and do not ride all that hard. But the shok broke. It was covered under waranty so maby I just got a reject just be aware.
- Even if it proves to be as reliable as a chunk of rock it is still soft and flexible. With the 6 psi that is recomended on the adjustment chart I can eaisly bottom the fork by bobbing on flat ground.
With 50 odd psi it is about the right stiffness for me but what are heavy riders supposed to do.

Bottom Line:
DO NOT BUY THESE EXPECTING THE BEST SHOCKS EVER
now that thats cleared up, I got these shocks on my Warp DS2 ( alose a great value) I know people always say they make a lot of noise, but this is not true. My chain hitting my guard makes more nosie. They do exactually what I expected them to do for the price. Taken them to my trail where theres some hucks, dirt jumps, river x-ings. they have been pirfect everytime
