$290.00 | | Purchased At: | Big Wheel | | Strengths: | One of the few real mountain bikes for little kids. Available in 10 in frame size! Reletively light. Cosmetically attractive for kids. Takes my 8 yr old everywhere I ride off road. Strong enough for real off road use, with decent gear range. | | Weaknesses: | Quality control suspect. First bike (replaced) had bad fork, crooked fork decal. Replacement bike rear tube defective. Forks are very stiff, little travel. Twist shifter is sloppy. Why no click shift on bikes like this? | | Similar Products Used: | Specialized Hotrock 20 inch | | Bike Setup: | Hotrock A1 FS. Stock. 10 inch frame size | | Bottom Line: | Despite quality concerns stated above the bike works great for my 8 yr old son. It enables him to really ride off road and have fun doing it. He just did 12 miles today on the conservation dikes here in Florida and kept up with the adults with no problem. He regularly rides the intermediate sections at Markhan Park, one of the most challenging parks in our area. The 1.8 Mt. Baldy tires are so tiny they don't look like they would work, but they handle everything except sand surprisingly well. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
