Strengths:    Effortless ride, looks good & rare as hell. A definite headturner

Weaknesses:    None. If anything it can be a bit too light at times ... not quite a weakness!!

Bottom Line:
Can't fault it. Rides like a dream & lets me keep up with ease with my mates (they're much better riders than me)

Strengths:    The bike climbs as if it were a helium filled balloon! On the flats the bike accelerates so fast that initially I was over shooting most turns. On bumpy descents the differnece between my 00 M2 and this feels like comparing aluminum to steel. I am completely shocked and pleasently surprised at the difference.

Weaknesses:    None

Bottom Line:
If you are wavering between a hardtail or a full suspension this frame is amazing and can keep you in the hardtail camp. The bike is SCARY fast and handles turns much better than the 00 M2. I was considering switching to a carbon seatpost prior to riding the bike, however now I am so satisfied with the vibration dampening qualities of the ride that I do not need to even consider switching seatposts. This was a warrenty replacent white colored Pro frame available only in the UK as others have posted. I can't seem to wipe the smile from my face. Great job Ned and the boys!

Strengths:    Kick ass light, like 22lbs. Climbs like a crack smoking goat. Dual control paired with old XTR, which is very sensible. Rapidrise is dumb, when do you want to grab a lot of gears at once? The old style lets you dump quickly and smoothly. Seemingly solid, lightweight stuff

Weaknesses:    The Dual control shifters work great, but when I crashed on a steep leaf-covered slope they actually got stuck on my top tube. I had to forcefully jam it out, causing a small scratch on both the shifter and the tube. Otherwise, no complaints, but not what you'd expect of Shimano's highest end racing group..

Bottom Line:
This bike is a great value for what I paid at end of season and is an incredibly lightweight race weapon. Mine weighs in the neighbourhood of about 22 lbs, stock! I can't gauge long term durability yet (naturally), but on the 6 rides or so I have taken on it it is the best, most nimble bike I have ever ridden! All that and the fact that it's not sold in the United States, but it is in every other country Specialized sells in. I wonder why..

Strengths:    light good frame, old style xtr mech so you can shift sensibly.

Weaknesses:    strongarm cranks, white colour gets dirty quickly especially when you have to commute in london, saddle is enough to cut down your sex life, however it will solve the population crisis in china............

Bottom Line:
good fast bike, climbs like a fighter plane, forks a bit flexy on severe dh, but then again they are lightweight forks. got a good price through staff purchase, not too sure about the new xtr shifters though.

Strengths:    Great climber, and the white paint job looks great. I have ridden a dual suspension and the hardtail is by far a superior bike, unless of course your body can't take a few hits over the course of a hard ride.

Weaknesses:    I have only ridden this new frame a few times but thus far I can't say anything bad about the frame.

Bottom Line:
I will continue to ride Specialized bikes because they are a great company. Even though I cracked my drop out on my 01 Pro and had to get a crash replacement (things happen). They sent me a new white pro frame that is made available only in the UK which is kinda cool. Until the Epic is a few tears into production and Specialized has perfected the brain technology I will ride the hardtail. This bike is for the hardcore racer / rider.

Strengths:    Looks HELLA TOUGH this 03 looks very nice

Weaknesses:    Since mine was a wranty replacement it was only available in white

Bottom Line:
This is beginning to sound familiar. I too cracked my '98 Stumpjumper Pro frame and got this one as a waranty replacement. I was pleased to see that it does say pro on it because when I was looking through the 03 catalogue I noticed that the highest the SJ's were going was comp. So far the frame feels awesome. Very good in the climbs and solid on decents. I had been thinking about getting a full suspension frame but since I got this new frame I have decided to put that off for a while. This frame feels much better than the old one. I feel like I got a new bike for free. I have nothing but praise for Specialized and how I was treated once I told them my frame was cracked. The new frame was delivered quickly and the boys at Cycle Dynamics in Westport, CT got it put together real quick.

Strengths:    Beefy Mounts For Discs, Light, Nice Paint, No one else rides one

Weaknesses:    None yet

Bottom Line:
This bike was a warranty for my broken 02 SJ. It is not in the catalog, so I guess Specialized made them and decided not to market them. Consequently there are very few SJ Pro's out there. As far as a hardtail goes, it is light and seems a bit more beefy than last years.' Still, I'll be switching to full suspension this summer.
