$525.00 | | Purchased At: | Steveston Bikes | | Strengths: | The Price. I got this bike for 680 bucks canadian, wich was about 525 U.S. This was supposed to be a heavier bike than others, but since I live up here in canada and the weather is allways like raining I think it's great. It's a nice, strong bike. | | Weaknesses: | Well, for one the Disc Pad on the front is rubbing against the disc, I have to get that fixed. ALso when in 8th gear the chain rubs against some metal so it creat's a 'click' 'click' 'click' noice as im riding. | | Similar Products Used: | Kona Stuff, Norco Katmandu, Norco Sasquatch | | Bottom Line: | It's a sweet bike, definetly the best I could get for this Price. $969.00 | | Purchased At: | Cyclepath, Brantford | | Strengths: | Great frame and geometry, price/value, most components. | | Weaknesses: | Worst experience at a shop ever, blow a grand on a bike and they won't throw in a $50 bash gaurd, cheap f*ckers, not that i'm bitter, but I will do my best to never return and tell all who'll listen. Cheapest factory headset ever, lasted 2 weeks. | | Similar Products Used: | Devinci Bonzia | | Bike Setup: | Bontranger Race post, Kore downhill stem and freeride bar, Selle Italia XO seat(the one with the maple leafs on it), Kore skewers, Simano 535 or Bombshell flats, depending on mood, WTB Momentum headset, ODI lock-on grips. | | Bottom Line: | The headset was sh*t, after one week there was an odd click when pulling side to side on the bars, the headset wasn't loose and I was stumped, then removed it and replaced with the marginally new one off my newly retired steed cum grocery getter, problem solved. the shock doesn't feel like it is getting it's true 100mm, and haven't recieved any word from Marzocchi after 2 e-mails and 3 weeks. That said, this bike kicks ass. It's handlid eveything I've thrown at it begging for more, really couldn't be happier. $673.00 | | Purchased At: | Trails, in Richmond Hill | | Strengths: | I have last years bike, and I got it at a price discounted twice :). If last years bike is any indication of this years bike I highly recommend it. Sure as hell ain't a race bike but I've done well with it. A first place in my fourth race. It handles the bumps almost as well as any soft tail, and it turns on a dime. Jumps evenly too, without any lean or drop on either the front or back. | | Weaknesses: | Th only weaknesses I've had are with the crank and the rear deraileur. I just replaced the crank because it became stripped. The new 2003 bike has the same crank but with a different connector inside. I hope it works better. The rear deraileur needs to be tuned often. I've tuned mine at least 6 or 7 times already (time for an upgrade). Oh ya, and the rims are a little weak. I'm only 125 pounds and I've had problems with them. But maybe it's cause of the jumps I do. | | Similar Products Used: | Nothing, unless you count a supercycle MBX 1000 as a bike. | | Bike Setup: | Stock, need to upgrade crank. | | Bottom Line: | For anyone looking for a fast, fun bike that can put even the fastest of race bikes through their paces, go for it. Climbs extremely fast, even if it weighs a ton, and accelerates quickly too. Great for beginners, or experienced riders also because it is just so damn fun to ride. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Anyone who is looking for a serious race bike look elsewhere. This is not what you are looking for, unless you are looking to impress those people with the $2000 + bikes by beating them with a much cheaper, heavier bike. He he he. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

$800.00 | | Purchased At: | olympia cycles | | Strengths: | Strong enough frame, cheap price for quality components, pretty good rims | | Weaknesses: | fork bottomed all the time, cheap bar, cranks are skrewy (broke crank rite off), seat is cheap | | Bike Setup: | stock (cept the parts i've had to replace: bar, cranks, seat, stem) | | Bottom Line: | This is a great ride for people just getting into the sport, great for trail rides and the occasional urban session, descent dirt jumper, and even a little freeriding. Just so you know this bike is not a DH rig, I bought it thinking it was going to take big hits, it didn't and i payed the price, and then i payed some more, and a little more. So if you ride big, and are on a budget hold out until you can afford a bike that is more freeride specific. All in all this is a cool bike don't hesitate buying it if you aren't really sure wut kind of riding youdo. | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |

The real derailer is nice and so are the hayes disc brakes. The bigfoot has nice rims and nice shifters. | | Weaknesses: | Small tires (2.1) inches but they seem like they are a 1.95. The front derailer is very slow. Frame is a bit heavy. I have gotten about 5 pinch flats so far because the tape in the rims is not very thick. I would recomend putting thicker tape in the rims. | | Similar Products Used: | 2002 Noro Chaos | | Bike Setup: | Stock | | Bottom Line: | The 2003 Norco Bigfoot is a great bike for the money. It stops, it goes, it shifts, it is comfortable, it looks great...what more could you want? | | Weaknesses: | It causes you to be weak when confronted with the choices of cut the grass, clean the house, wash the car, etc. or get your ass on the seat and go riding! | | Similar Products Used: | Raliegh Portage, "Tim Horton's" 2000 MTB | | Bike Setup: | Stock | | Bottom Line: | I had no idea what to spend on or what I wanted in a bike other that I wanted one for the dirt. I picked a price of around $500 and went out to the bike shops. The more I went and talked to the knowledgable salespeople (with all do respect, not the part-timers at the big-box sports stores) the more I learned what I thought I wanted. I also read some reviews of the bikes. I always seemed to be coming back to the Big Foot as the bike that had everything that I wanted. My purchase of the bike and the subsequent mind-blasting rides that I have had proved that I was correct in purchasing this bike. It does everything I want it to do. In the end, I guess I spent twice as I originally wanted to but I feel that after riding the Big Foot it was truly worth every penny. Cheers! | Value Rating: Overall Rating: |
