Strengths:    Great light steel frame with a ride that is smooth and fast. Mechanical brakes are responsive and easy to maintain. Definitely gets better with age so, it is the best fit for me, since this is my first "real" mtn. bike. I can grow "with" the bike instead of "out of it".

Weaknesses:    Don't get to ride with friends very often; they have a hard time keeping up. Stock Deore/XT deraileurs need a lot of attention.

Bottom Line:
This is an impressive bike that handles everything I've thrown at it. For this price range, this bike is top notch.
I recommend this bike for the beginner/intermediate user.

Strengths:    Bike is incredibly light, amazing component set for the money, skareb comp fork is great...avid mech. discs offer amazing stopping power...stellar looks.

Weaknesses:    had the bike for a week and put about 25 miles on it...no weaknesses discovered so far...

Bottom Line:
This is my first high qual. mt. bike and after extensive research it came down to the eldridge grade and the giant rainier...the grade is a better bang for your buck component wise....plus you get the awesome columbus thron steel frame.

everyone at the shop was gawking at my new eldridge grade and couldn't believe the setup i was getting for the price i paid. this bike will not disappoint...

the quick fire shifters and component setup is unbeatable.
frame and fork have taken anything ive dished.

buy it. enjoy it.

Strengths:    responsive, light, strong steel framed bike with great components. Avid disc brakes ROCK!

Weaknesses:    none so far, will post later after a few more rides.

Bottom Line:
Great bike. Shifts smooth and feels very responsive. Brakes are powerful and quiet. Seat is a little hard. LOVE the disc brakes and rapid fire shifters. Cool colors also. Very light bike. Lighter than most alloy hardtails I looked at even though it is a steel frame.

Strengths:    strength, feel, lightweight steel frame, disc brakes, responsive feel tail

Bottom Line:
tremendous feeling ride. skarob front handles anything well. just a safe feeling, fast, agile, lightweight bike. this steel frame is so light that even with the stock disc brakes it's lighter than most alloy hardtails.
