Strengths:    The frame is durable, a geat beginner bike for moderate riding. You can up grade the components easily.

Weaknesses:    It heavy, and the components are not too good. The derailuer discs are plastic and broke them, I also heavily dented one of the rims.

Bottom Line:
A great beginner bike, good for moderate trail use and also just riding on pavement. Teh components definetly need to be upgraded if you want to do any very hard riding. For a beginer bike, I give it a 4 overall.

Strengths:    Solid frame, good geometry, price

Weaknesses:    rims are weak, some times too plush a fork, heavy

Bottom Line:
This is a great enrty level bike. I would like to put stronger rims on it because they have quite a woble. This is a good bike for light xc and pavement combination. Since it does not have a lot of travel, and the tires are 1.95's, you can ride it from your house to dirt trails without using up too much energy. I would recoment this bike to anyone who is looking for an entry level bike for non-agressive xc.

Strengths:    Strong frame, standard size components are easy to replace, cheap

Weaknesses:    Some crappy components...handlebars, fork, and tires are garbage.

Bottom Line:
Great value for the price...I picked up mine at REI on clearance. I love the geometry of the frame; it fits perfectly with my body and my back doesn't hurt even after long rides. I'm about 6'1" and have long legs, so I ride the Way Big size, which probably helps. I've broken most of the original components, but I ride a lot harder than this bike was intended for (plus I've wiped out a few times...). The frame is light and strong; the handlebars are not. I actually bent the handlebars and wrecked the original fork going off a 6' dirt drop. I only weigh about 180, so if I break them, there's something wrong. However, for less than $200, what do you expect? My next step is going to be to lighten the back end with a new seat post and possibly a new bottom bracket/rear derailleur.

Strengths:    Value for the money, light frame, disc mounts

Weaknesses:    needs upgraded components

Bottom Line:
For the money it is a great bike, but I would updated some of the components if you want to ride more aggressively off-road. Great starter bike having a frame with all the mounts needed for commuting or racing.
