Strengths:    This bike can't be touched for the price. To get a similar spec'd bike from a shop you'll be paying close to double.

Weaknesses:    I'll be getting less work done thanks to this bike.

    Bottom Line:
Took it to Tsali the day after I got it. Rides awesome. Shifted flawlessly. I think the fork is actually pretty good. Some will say that the fork isn't that great but if you look at the reviews for ANY fork at ANY price you will always have a few bike snobs bashing it. Guess for some people nothing's ever good enough. Well, this bike is PLENTY good enough for me!

Duration Product Used:   Less than 1 month

    Price Paid:    $270.00

Similar Products Used:   My last bike wasn't much better than a department store bike so it really doesn't compare.

Bike Setup:   Stock components are pretty decent. Some complain about the saddle but I don't think it's that bad (at least on 10-12 mi rides).

Strengths:    Wow! What a great bike for the price! I ordered it online and received it the next day. I was looking for a good hardtail for under $300 and I am so happy with it. The local bike shop could not touch it for what it has and what I paid. The wheels, drivetrain, front fork were much better than others I was considering (Giant, Fuji). I've ridden it hard a few times and no problems. It was also nice for Ibex to send some touch-up paint and bike tool.

Weaknesses:    The Velo Comp seat is very firm. I replaced it with a softer seat and a suspension seatpost. Rides like a dream now!

    Bottom Line:
Can't beat it for the price. Well made, and good service from Ibex. Great bike for a beginner to intermediate rider.

Strengths:    Great for the price. This was my first mtn bike and I wanted a cheap one because I wasn't sure I'd like it. I've been thrilled with it. Out of the box, I assembled it in about an hour and the only adjustment was one of the brake preload springs. I've beaten teh crap out of the bike and the only troubles I've had are the stock tires (not good for Florida sand) and the left crank has come loose on me twice on the trails. Some Loc-Tite seems to have cured it.

I've got at least 200 miles on it, 170 or more off road (it's 3 miles of road to my favorite trail).

Weaknesses:    It's not a $2,000 full suspension bike. The rear deraileur seems to be having trouble with the 3->4 shift, but it's been bashed pretty hard a couple of times. The stock tires suck for Florida.

    Bottom Line:
I want a full suspension bike now, as any slope on the local trails are full of roots. This is one of the best bargains I've gotten.

Strengths:    Great components at incredible low price

Weaknesses:    Can't buy it at the mall - had to wait 4 days from order for it to be delivered...

    Bottom Line:
I have been looking 3 months for a replacement for my old monster bike (Nashbar). Discouraged with the junk the bike stores offered (have to accessorize crank, wheels, etc.. to get a good bike) - until I stumbled upon Alpine 350.

Today, I am confident that I got the best Mtn bike available for $300. Shame I had to muddy the pretty thing up.

Strengths:    Fantastic value! - Full Shimano Acera drivetrain - Nice 6061 frame - Decent Tektro V-brakes - RST Gila suspension fork - Double wall rims

Weaknesses:    None that I can see!

    Bottom Line:
This bike is a great value! I shopped around at 4 or 5 LBS and could find nothing close to this for anything less than $450 (I paid $330). My bike was shipped right away and set-up was a breeze. I have nothing but good things to say! I spoke to IBEX a couple of times and they bent over backwards to help me. The bike rides and handles extremely well and I get a lot of attention on the trails - everybody seems to want to know about my bike! I think buying this bike was the smartest thing I've done and I'll definitely go back to IBEX the next time I'm ready to buy another bike.

Strengths:    Great bike for the price. Climbs great, shifts smoothly, and handles nicely. It also takes the punishment of a 190lb. rider without a problem. It's pleasure to ride.

    Weaknesses:    None so far.

    Bottom Line:
The bike was shipped the same day that I ordered it and came in less than a week. It was easy to assemble. The bike is a delight. If you want a great value - and feel like you're really getting what you paid for, this bike is for you. IBEX produces a top notch product that they can be proud of. I will be buying from them again when my sons outgrow their bikes and when I'm ready for an upgrade.

Strengths:    Great component quality for the price. Customer Service. Ibex originally sent me the wrong bike and made up for it by sending me the right bike and an accesories pack. Also walked me through process of making adjustments.

Weaknesses:    Customer service. Cable tension adjuster didn't work properly. Ibex offered to replace the part. I decided that I wanted to just return the bike instead (as I had owned it less than thirty days) As soon as Ibex found this out, they insisted that I broke the bike and any damage to the bike when returned would be subtracted from my refund. Because of this I was pretty much forced to keep the bike.

    Bottom Line:
Buy an Ibex bicycle, but don't try to return it.
